Mike,

If not mistaken one of the ebay posters said his grills are made in Italy. I asked a friend in Germany if he had seen them for sale in his area, nope. Perhaps if brave you could check on the Italian ebay site. Maybe someone is selling them for a decent price. I agree, $200 is top dollar for a McSpeedster fashion statement, and certainly the cost of the raw material, labor and chroming can't be much.
Found a correct pair on the higher price end ($275 + shp'g). Thanks Henry (IM)!

Bruce,

They look great in the pic. Where did you find Stainless wire mesh?, or is it chorme?

BTW, Ever since "Finding Nemo" came out and my children have made me watch it 125plus times, I think of Dame Edna playing the part of the shark "Bruce" in the movie and pronouncing, "Fish are friends, not food!"
to tag on to Tom's comment - Bruce - I'd like to thank you for taking the time to send me your instructions/pictures & part numbers for the stoneguards you created. Just got em done, and I think they came out very nice, and were easy to make. Thanks again for sharing. Hope to see you at BP.

Bruce,

Those headlamp screens ARE beautiful, could/would you email me the instructions and parts list as well . . . when you can.

Thanks in advance. If it's too much trouble, that's cool too. It's so nice to see such quality coming from someone's garage so to speak.

GREAT JOB!

TC
Bruce,

I checked out the McMaster-Carr site, could you let me know the holes per square inch that you used, Yours are PERFECT. I'd like to duplicate the look that you have.

There were two grades of aluminum as well, does it make a difference?

Any help at all would be GREAT!

Thanks, TC
Bruce shared his ingenious plans with me. They are simple and inexpensive to make/install.

You can't run the screens with the headlamp lense mounted though. I don't know how this will effect the running lamp (and socket) which will be exposed to water without the glass lense. There may be a waterproof socket, dunno.
ERIK, YOU'RE THE BEST!

I just checked my email and found a forward(?) from Erik regarding the mesh screens. WOW, easy peasy and sharp as h*ll aren't they?

Thank you so much, they look so beautiful and as SO VERY EASY to make. It makes me feel more then a little stupid for not thinking of it.

Just terrific! Thank you again, I really appreciate this.

TC

And the most thanks and compliments to Bruce for inventing the way to produce them, and sourcing the perfect parts!!
I forwarded Bruce's instructions that came through Erik to Terry.

Terry,

Since Erik and Bruce and I already made our moves, why don't you forward them to someone, and so-on, and so-on. Then, when the music stops playing we'll all run for a chair. Odd man out has to make a set for the one who forwarded the instructions . . . and so-on, and so-on, and . . .
Hi All:
have'nt been here for a few days, see that many are interested in the screens. E-mail me and I will send inst. don't know how to post to knowledge sect. or I would, Theron you have my permision to do so.
All I ask in return is a hardy handclasp at our next meeting, and for all to fly a "Bruce is Swell" flag (LOL)
Glad you all liked them.
Bruce

Kinda like a chain letter.
The instructions are great. I don't know if one can post photos in the knowledge section, although it would be great if you can. Visuals with step by step instructions always works for me.
Thanks Bruce and TC for the instructions. I will gladly pass them on.
Terry
By the way, I saw Dale Fieber's mesh guards at Knott's. I believe he made them using the aforementioned instructions. They are awesome.
