Just a quick note to say that I had the pleasure of meeting Bob:IM S6 last week. After a couple of missed opportunities due to Summer cottaging and travel/work schedules, I was finally able meet Bob for breakfast halfway between our homes (we live maybe 1/2 an hour apart).

I have only seen one Speedster at a dealer and never one on the road so it was a real treat to see another in person and get a close up examination of his beautiful Intermeccanica and P engine.

As many of you know, Bob is a real gentleman and freely shared his experience owing 3 Speedsters and the bonus was that he used to live very close to where I grew up and we shared quite a bit of past history there including knowing some of his family through past employment situations. It was actually quite funny in a "small world" kind of way.

I know most of you feel this regularly here but it was just a great experience to meet someone willing to take time out of their week to help educate a newbie and someone hoping to join the madness. I am part of a similar motorcycle site and see the same thing here.

Thanks Bob!

I have often said that the real pleasure I derive from owning a Speedster is the fellow owners I meet which mostly occurs at the various gatherings such as Carlisle.  No Speedster owner should miss the opportunity to attend Carlisle or the West Coast events ----I know I sure wouldn't as long as I'm fit and able.

Well, I certainly appreciate the accolades, but I enjoyed the meeting as well.  I think most of us here are more than happy to speak to someone about our cars, and - as was mentioned - it turned into an 'old home reunion' of a sort.

I find that people who enjoy our replicas are true 'car guys' , and don't live off the status of whatever it is that they are driving.

Other than the short rain showers we endured, it was a great way to spend part of a morning.
