I got an alert on the phone about that today.
The seismic guy said folks should use texting to communicate, instead of voice lines.
Funny. I wonder how many folks were injured in auto accidents because they couldn't talk to each other while driving.

Kidding aside, ya might want to stock up on your canned goods and water out there, guys. That whole Pacific Rim is acting funky.
Stay safe!
Nothing like being in the 2nd story family room if you want to amp up your ride - YEE HAW.

Honestly, after the first 30 seconds, I seriously considered abandoning the ship, but it all stopped about then. After 43 years in southern Cal you'd think you get used to this stuff. This one was a little stronger and lasted a little longer than the "usual". I'm sure the normal aftershocks will be arriving for the next few weeks.

Still beats floods and ice storms others are experiencing elswhere.
El Guapo, Diablo,

Shake, rattle and roll, NorCal wants the next one. Why should SoCal types have all the fun?

Also, lets not forget the 9.+ in Alaska, 1964 just before dinner.

Went through a couple of shakes in Japan - they know how to do serious earth quakes. Kyoto-Osaka comes to mind.

Applied for a really neat science position and was up against a guy from Pennsylvania, really tight competition, I was the underdog because of my age. We had a minor quake (3.2) and he bailed, said his wife was scared - yea! Greatest job I ever had!

Rock on...

I was putting the finishing touches on the second floor deck handrail. As I was nailing a 16d finish nail into the rail the deck started bouncing making it very hard to drive the nail.

Chrissa and I looked at each other and headed down the stairs and out the front door where we yucked it up with our neighbors. I won't say we ran but we got out of the house in record time!

Waited a few minutes and then finished nailing off the hand rail. Probably the best shaker I have ever felt in San Diego.
