Some years back in the lower NY State area, there was a "real" yellow MGTD with a black Stay fast top and a Chebby 350...what a car! If I could find it, I would buy it !
Are we talking of the same cars whose right door would pop open on hard left turns? Talk about your flexible flyer. I can't imagine what one would do under the influence of a V8.

has anyone ever run spoke wheels on a speedy? They are somewhat appealing to me.

Now chromed wires, thin red line tires on dark metallic (Jaguar/BMW) green, tan cloth top and matching tan interior, wooden wheel and shift knob . . .
THAT would really look PISSA ! ! !
Grab a set of these from Victoria British:

Pick up a set of blank rear drums and blank front spindles and have them drilled/tapped to match the MGB/TR6 lug pattern and DONE!

As an MG lover from waaay back, I gotta say that car is, um, well, uh...
Just not feeling the Capri/Pinto 2.0L OHC and all the other stuff.
TC - I gotta ask, what does "PISSA" stand for? I've seen you use it a bunch, and, though I'm pretty good with acronyms, that one's got me stumped

I don't think that PISSA is an acronym. I think it's a more polite way of saying a less polite word, perhaps with a New England twist.

I meant the above description to be applied to a Speedster as an answer (and elaboration) to how would wires look. Sorry for the confusion.
PISSA is a Boston/Southern Shore word meaning just the absolute BEST EVER ! ! ! The only thing that tops it would be WICKED PISSA ! ! ! ! But that's reserved for things like Cherry Pez, having a huge truck inner tube at Wollaston Beach, or a successful jump from Table Top at the Quincy Quarries.
PISSA or WICKED can be used as stand alone superlatives.
