The Berg mid mount ties the trans to the frame horns better. I know it's more money, but you get what you pay for.
The Mendeola mounts look interesting, but I have this comment:
With the Berg mount, you assemble the frame to the transmission (you may need longer studs for the transaxle), then assemble the rubber cushions to the frame and then the frame horn mounts to the cushion, BUT you add a 1/8" thick fender washer between the cushion and the horn mounts.
You then tack weld the horn mounts in place, then remove the cushion and washer (so the heat of welding doesn't screw up the cushion) and finish the welds. (or, if you're me, have someone who actually knows how to weld do it.)
When you do the final assembly, just delete the washer and there'll be a 1/8" gap between cushion and horn mount which gets pulled in by the cushion bolt to "preload" the cushion and keep the whole thing from thumping during normal operation.
The Mendeola design, as I see it, doesn't allow you to do that and I'm afraid that those Urethane bumpers will thump and rumble (unless I'm missing something).
The Mendeola (originally Joel Mohr) design keeps the trans nose cone from moving up, but there's no adjustment if it doesn't fit exactly and there's nothing to keep one side from moving down when the trans and engine want to "twist" during acceleration. The Berg unit does what it's supposed to under all conditions. The only criticism I have- it's heavy (over 5 lbs). If it was made out of aluminum it would be about 2 lbs. With all the hole drilling on mine I got it to under 3 lbs, but it was a lot of time spent.
