So, after a fun but rather lightly attended early summer get together at the People's Republic of Stanistan this past week, a future meeting was briefly discussed.
I have suggested that any and all of you attend the Road America Vintage Weekend Event, September 7-9. I live just one hour south of Road America and although I do not have the ability to provide lodging, I do have the location (my back yard) to provide for a meeting spot on either Friday or Saturday evening (maybe both) for a cookout, refreshments etc meet and greet session. We could also depart from my house the morning of and take an interesting one hour tour of the surrounding area, a nice drive to start out the day. There would be nearby lodging if anyone were interested. I attended last year's event (Sunday only) and I can report that there was a wealth of interesting cars both racing and just in attendance. The event is not overly attended so access to the cars and track is quite good. Anyone with Road America experience (nice facilities IMHO) please chime in here.
In conclusion, I'd like to make this an official announcement and invite for all interested parties. Here's the link to the Road America event: http://www.roadamerica.com/Rac...formation.asp?id=246
Advanced ticket prices are quite reasonable, those so inclined to camping within the grounds are certainly welcome to try that (personally, I prefer a real bed), local accommodations near Road America could be found as well, but I would probably think that planning ahead would be advisable.
So, let's start making a list. All in favor say AYE.
