Kelly Frazier (@El Frazoo) hipped me to this rather elaborate car meet about 10 minutes from his house, 50 miles from mine. So I saddled up the Spyder yesterday and braved the Baltimore tunnel & etc. to check it out.
I rolled up about 8:30 and the dude directing traffic told me to park in front of the deli—a place of honor apparently but what did I know? And besides I'd told Kelly I would park with him. Found plenty of parking spots right then; no Kelly. So I saved him a spot and spent some time with the owner of that slammed Ghia. It's got a 2110 and he built it and drives the bag off it.
By the time Kelly rolled in it was getting pretty jam-packed. This is apparently a monthly event and it goes into the afternoon. By 10 or so a live band was performing on the sidewalk.
Here's Kelly explaining our position to a real Porsche guy. That green pool toy sticking out of my car is an award! The Spyder's first car show trophy.
On hand were plenty of supercars: McLarens, Ferraris, a Countach, a Veyron etc.
Several tiny toy cars...
Duelin' Deloreans
This thing I have no idea. Rolls badged, it has suicide doors, 26 inch wheels and a teak deck. And the scale of it is hilarious—almost like the Beetle that guy built on a Chevy SUV chassis.
I've seen this Cobra before, but I especially liked the way the sun set off the contrast between the polished aluminum and the cooked chrome headers today.
Doing the stripes as brushed aluminum was genius. Glad it's not mine to maintain though.
We saw Paul (guy who bought one of Alan's Speedsters. I think?) but he and his son came in their Ferrari California.
This guy I hoped would hop but no. Maybe next time.
