Hi all,

My friend is working on my car and managed to crack(shatter) the resin formed web shaped support that mounts between the top torsion bar (front end)frame and the trunk bottom. I don't want to patch
it back together. Does anyone have an extra laying around?
Cory? You probably tossed it during your rebuild, I hope not.
Thanks

Bruce, if you mean the piece that sits under the fuel tank and ties the frame head to the bottom of the front end of the tank, mine was held in by two big bolts that I had to cut off. I wrecked the whole shooting match trying to break them loose, and eventually chopped the piece out with a Saws-all.
I threw my scrap out when we moved the Wrench's shop this summer.
I can most likely make you something to fit, if you send me the broken pieces. I have loads of aluminum and lots and lots of bar stock, and I love a challenge.
Send me dimensions and a photo of what's left of your piece, and I'll make you something up this weekend. I'll have you a duplicate in very short order; a two- or three-day turnaround, tops, if the dimensions are accurate.
Cory, just wanted to say that you sir, are a true gentleman. Like most people here, I was sorry to hear your tale of problems with your build, and heaved a sigh of relief when all appeard to be sorted. Looking through the pictures you have posted in the past few days, you must be up to your eyeballs in rebuilding your own car, and on top of that you are offering to help fabricate a part for a fellow SOC enthusiast.

I don't chime in too often, but it is great to see when members of this site help others with advice, parts and labour. You are a shining example, along with a number of others (we all know who they are) that helps make this site great. My hat is off to you all. Many thanks.
Cory, Thank you for your generous offer but I would feel guilty
if I took you up on the offer. I glued the pieces back together in order to make up an example of what I need. I was really hoping someone had one laying around. I wouldn't think of asking you to take
two minutes away from your car, get back to work. Thanks again for the offer!!!
