Thinking about a one day drive. Probably Saturday, September 10. We'll head up to Tahoe, via Hwy 20 and onto Historic 40 through Donner Summit. We'll hit Truckee and down 89 to Tahoe City. I'll figure out lunch once I see how many are interested. From Tahoe City we'll continue on 89 past Emerald Bay and into South Shore Tahoe. Then we'll head down to Placerville, via Hwy 50.

Let me know if you're interested by posting here.

I don't know, Terry. I think the PCA works with the Sheriff's Department to have replicas banned from local roads for the whole weekend.

Might be fun to crash the party, though. I think we could slip in unnoticed if we all wore Topsiders and Izod polo shirts.

Not sure about the Izod polos but I have enough pairs of topsiders to cover all of us.

THAT's why I like going to "Porsche Fest" Day at the museum of transportation in Boston - so I fit in with my Topsiders.  And there are always lots of Izods and L.L. Beans wandering around.....collars turned up and all that.  The really cool ones have the Bean blue dress shirt (sleeves rolled up) and a "Mount Gay Rum" faded ball cap, too.

And then, this guy comes in with a loud, obviously fake, flared-fendered car ('cuz we all know that Porsche never made cars with flared fenders, right? - And it probably can't get out of it's own way with that puny, 40hp VW engine in it...That's why it's so loud.)    So he parks and hops out and he's wearing (GASP!) an Hawaiian Shirt!  Who does he think he is, Hawkeye Pierce?  He's not one of US!

So since I am in a "P" car, does that mean my spear's should stay home?  I can't hang out with those PCA'rs. Way too uppitie. And my 912 is not "purest" even though it is a matching numbers car.

DANG! I'd love to join you Nuckel-heads for the Mini Tour D'Hoe. Unfortunately it's a bit too far from me (450 miles) for a one day cruise around the Lake.

Then make it a week. Terry will house you at his place Thursday and Friday. Go experience the mini-hoe, lay over another day at Casa de Nuckles, and head home.

I made are all the arrangements with Terry already so you won't have to tell him you're coming.

Okay, the date is coming up. Saturday, September 10. So far we have me, Dave Mitchell, Stephen Romero, Ricardo Montiel, Tebs, Ron, Barnco Bob, Mitch? Robert Poopiehead? Anyone else? Head count is important so I can figure out lunch.

Those of you coming up on Friday. It's the last Auburn Cruise Night of the year. They close down the main drag in town for vintage cars and hot rods. Also, the big hot rod show in Grass Valley is on Saturday and Sunday, with the 2016 Indy 500 winner, Alex Rossi, there on Sunday. Don't forget the PCA shindig at Squaw Valley Tahoe over the weekend. Lots to do. Me? I just wanna drive.

UMMMM  I'm new here:

Sounds like a fun drive and I am looking forward to bring MISS JILL to new roads.

MItch!!     I would be a tad bit disappointed if you didn't show.. YOU DON'T WANT TOP DISAPPOINT ME!!    by the way,  by the time we go on this drive I will be an active member of the PCA..   Wear what you want YOUR WITH ME!!

I hear that we may be cruising past the last town in California to receive a phone landline

AT&T has Terry Nuckles to thank for that..  After a Senior VICE president read his NY Times best Selling book:  "WHAT THE BELL?  MA HELL", A guide to installing your own landlines with coat hangers and duct tape.(circa 2009)

Needless to say I want to see this town that was started in 1850..

Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new people!!

should be a great time!!! Lets get mixed up with the hot rods and have some fun

Mitch, go up to Tony's shop and offer to help him or get him to loan you his oval for the tour - he'll get it done. BTW, forget the shirt. I have two pairs of Sperry perforated topsiders. I could loan you one.

Tebs, we won't be visiting Iowa Hill https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_Hill,_California  this trip - it's not on the way to Tahoe. Now, if you all wanted to tour the back roads of the Sierra Foothills, I would be happy to lead the group on all my favorite twisties. We could easily do a full day of driving.

We'd have to rename the event, however.
