Works continues on my CMC/Intermeccanica hybrid (thats my new name for it now). I have begun fitting the windshield which I understand is not an easy task. I apparently do not have the center support rod. Any ideas as to where to locate one? I think JPS wanted $45 which seems a little outrageous. Please remember me if your cleaning out your Speedster closets...I still need a few things.

Jeff, re your car a while ago I was told by Henry (IM) that the late 1970's circa IM cars had Intermanicca in the rear engine hinges.

If the car was assembled at their Costa Mesa, California facility there would also be a sticker in the door jam with the vehicle number but there are no other factory markings on the car that he is aware of. Henry said (he was only a kid back then so he isn't certain) but he feels that when IM sold their molds and spare parts to CMC (or maybe it was FiberFab?) included were some unused IM hinges. Don't know if this vague info adds to your knownledge about your car. Even lacking the door jam IM sticker yours could still be an IM. The sticker may have come unattached or been removed or it might have been a privately/or owner-built IM.
My car is actually a 1991 CMC Speedster which was never assembled, and hit my a drunk driver which jumped the curb and smacked the front end. I have a few pictures but can't seem to download them. The fender was in about 10 pieces when I purchased it. After a lot of deliberation, and research I bought a fender from Henry at Intermeccanica. I have finished the grafting of the fender to the old CMC body, and am prepping it for paint. Before I get it painted I am pre-assembling everything and have discovered various "missing" pieces.
