After our monthly 356 club meeting the other night, one of the other officers mentioned to me that he was helping the widow of a club member liquidate a barn-full of original 356 and 911 parts. I told him I would put some up on here to see if anyone is interested. We are both struggling with pricing, and he's getting help there from other, more knowledgeable local members in the local club and the 356 Registry.
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, PM ME AND I'LL FORWARD HIS EMAIL ADDRESS.
The first thing he mentioned is a pair of original, 5" Hella Amber Fog Lights. These appear to be the same as those that Jim Ward searched for months for for his Ruby. They have been boxed and are in original NOS shape, the chrome is flawless and the lenses perfect:
IIRC, Jim Ward paid something well north of $1,200 for his pair and finding a mint pair is unbelievable. These will not be cheap, but are very authentic.
Next is a pair of original Knecht air cleaners. If you want to be truly original and the CB Performance air cleaners don't do it for you, this is the way to go:
I'll leave it to you guys as to what carburetors they fit - Solex maybe, but possibly Webers, too.....I just don't know.
Last in this group (there will be more, I'm sure) is a set of Fikse rims, most likely for a 911 but might look cool on the right Speedster/Coupe (Lane?) Looks like they're mounted with Bridgestones of unknown age.
He will also be finding a home for what looks like an original '65 Cabriolet Super Carerra that is said to be in very good shape with a lot of purist goodies on it. Black interior that, IIRC from last year, is in really good shape. Not as rare as another SC in the group, a 1-of-40-made version, but a very nice SC:
So, again, if anyone's interested, PM me and I'll forward the guy's name and email address. I'll be seeing him tomorrow at his house and could perhaps get more photos and more info. I know that the parts have all been in New York somewhere, but that's it. I'll leave it to him to finalize pricing and make whatever deals he can for the owner.
