Due to a schedule conflict, I was unable to attend the West Coast Cruise. Luckily there’s this Breakfast Club Rally that occurs once a month on Saturday mornings; to get in some Speedster adventure.
My wife is out of town, and therefore taking care of my 6 y/o rests solely on my shoulders. I thought a morning rally would be a great opportunity to break him in to the auto rally experience.
The starting point was located 42-miles from my house. We left the house after 7am. He survived the top down highway trip to the starting point in 54-degree weather; without complaint. He brought his iPad, but never turned it on. (Good sign).
We arrived to find what I’d estimate 300+ parked and waiting for the 9am start. Cars ranged from the 30s-present day, with a majority being pre-1990. There were the usual Porsches of all eras, Ferraris of the 60s-present along with a good representation of British sports cars (Morgans, Healeys, Triumphs, MGs, etc).
I’d say it was successful. The rally lasted a bit longer than I expected, we arrived home at 2:40pm. I put on 200+ miles. And the temperature went from 54-degrees to 91. (After the weather app predicted a high of 82).
I thought I’d share a few pics of our adventure.
