Not mine.
Mfg'd by Shay for Ford. I owned this car a few years ago...absolutely a blast to drive 60 mph tops with a tail wind, what an eye catcher.

A friend owns one and swears by it. He owns and operates a tourist nick/knack shop...a general store. The Shay is always parked out front for an attention getter. It works! I actual heard a gentleman and Clay discussing what would be his selling price. The tourist guy made an offer of $30,000. Whoa! I kept motioning for Clay to take it, but he would not. This was the offertories 2nd time back to the shop when I was there. One is born everyday!
They pop up now and then on eBay in the $15k range....with the 4 cyl Pinto power they lack any get up and go but are fun. When approaching a hill you must be well into the throttle before hand. There is a good following for these cars. But also realize that a real restored Model A can be had for a tad more.

The Shay story:
A good friend called me about this particular Shay car some years ago. Say's his co worker has a Model A for $5,000. I requested pics and when I got them I knew it was mint condition Shay.

That Saturday Kim amd I fire up the big car carrier and headed to Long Island NY. As we pulled in front of the seller's home, there it sat on the lawn looking as new as the day it was orginally purchased. Seller and I talked a bit and I loaded it on the truck after giving up a mear $4,000.
Listed it on eBay a few weeks later and sold it for $14,000 ....
Ahh American commerce. ~Alan

Shay also made a '55 T Bird replica.
