I saw the originalsilver speedster with the black top and baby moons on 101 near King City today around 10:00/10:30. He was headed South. We were headed North. I'll be at the werks on a Friday. What's going on in Pacific Grove? I'll keep an eye out for other SOC members.

Pacific Grove's Friday 8/14 event is a fun Concours on Lighthouse Avenue followed by a Police escorted Rally through Pebble Beach and 17 Mile Drive - and an optional dinner - the Concours is a fun one with light 'Judges Choice' awards - (no q tips are seen about during the day)....You can participate in the event with any car - replicas have been represented in the past including Speedster and 550 Spyder Porsche Replicas.  There's no charge to spectate and the Concours is from 1:00-5:00 - with the Rally (my avatar photo was taken during the Rally a couple years back) following.  Registration and 'line up' begins at 1:00pm - the event typically 'almost' sells out - so you might be able to register now or at the event if you wish to participate (it's about a $75 charge for the Concours & Rally- dinner optional/extra)...

Rick, I'd love to head up to the peninsula but our VS speedster won't be finished until Friday or early next week (I'll know more this afternoon) so we'll miss this year's festivities, probably next year though.

 

Kathy and I are heading up there towards the end of the month for an over-nighter, we'll head up the coast from Cambria, I think that's the kind of drives Ferdinand envisioned when he invented the Speedster!

I'm going to head over in my Acura Shooting Brake (*wagon). The Speedster is running a little off, so I'm not sure I want to risk a mechanical issue on the way over or back. Plus I'm recovering from too much Paso Robles Sun this past weekend.

What a great week of cars, the rally drive, if not too jammed with cars sound great. Perhaps next year. thanx for the news
