There were plenty of Porsche Speedster's at today's Ocean Avenue, Carmel, CA. Car show, they were also AC Cobra replicas but The only speedster replica was mine at the Pacific Grove Monterey Lighthouse Ave car show. Plenty of interest though, especially in the BlazeCut Fire Suppression System which I labeled to save questions about that "strange white hose" in the engine compartment. :-)

Bob, glad you made it, I'm planning on attending next year for sure.
How were you treated by the PCA members?
We were treated fine at the Carmel show, our car was not in the show, but I had a few conversations with owners of real speedsters and I told him that I had a Porsche powered replica and they were actually complementary because a lot of their cars they can't drive much for fear of damage. I consider my car a Porsche anyway because it has a Porsche engine which cost 1/2 the price of the car!
In the car show on Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove later in the day, our car was in this show, and we were positioned by the Marshalls behind a real '57 Speedster. At at end of the show, we finally met the owner of the red Porsche and I told him mine was a replica, and he laughed and said "don't tell anybody but mine's a replica too!" It was very well done! He was an ex police officer, and owns a bed and breakfast in Pacific Grove.

It was my goal to drive mine down this year with a friend. Then last month, another friend asked to join. And he supplied hospitality suite passes for the Concours. Since the 2.5 hour ride wouldn't exactly be enjoyable for three grown men, I decided the passes were worth more than driving the speedster down. Another time.
