Vince is right: I saw a documentary on that road rally on HD Net a while back - it is AWESOME! They had a bunch of Bantams entered that year. They look like the tiny clown cars in a Ringling Bros. circus and everyone was wondering if they could make it up some of the steeper hills.

The Bantams did just fine, but a few old Rolls had to quit mid-hill!

This is an incredible week of cars, fun, and some rather attractive ladies too! I am there for the Pre-Historics thru the Historics. This year Porsche is the featured Marque. There is no telling what awesome cars Porsche might bring to this event. The factory museum will bring out some greats I am sure. Don't miss it!
OK, I'm a snob.
Last year, my wife and I went to ALL of this. I mean you don't just look at cars, you wallow in them ! In addition to the formal events listed above this is the street concours on Ocean Avenue in Carmel on Monday & Tuesday. Many, many 356's there.

Last year, we were also treated to the large (& very snobby) private party at the Monterey airport on Wednesday night. That was our first look at the Lambo Reveton, plus lotsa tefosi, private jets, yadda, yadda. After the street concours, Concourso Italiano, The Quail (very expensive to attend), Laguna Seca & Pebble we were worn out.

By the way if you attend the fashion show known as the Pebble Beach Concours (admission $150.......we had media credentials), every car has this sign that pops up when you get within 6 feet of it. It says, "Inhale Only, Please".
Vince!

Is that a "Real" Porsche Driver or are you just visualizing an opinion??

Seriously, though (and I know that is a difficult state of mind for this forum), I really wish I were closer so I could make it to Pebble Beach. Kathy and I did the Amelia Island (Florida) Concours a couple of years back and, while it was a very nice show, it was a far cry from Pebble Beach...

But then.....the cost of the tickets for Pebble Beach events is equivalent to the down payment on a middle class home. The same goes for ANY NASCAR event ($125 for a decent seat? I DON'T THINK SO!!).

Might be better to hang out at the Monteray (sp?) or Laguna Seca Historic races in the back field (in the twisties) with Vince and a bottle or two of Oban...
