I was never a fan of the VW "Pea Shooter" exhaust tips, so I cut 'em off, fabbed up some sleeves, and welded on these 356 "Sport Muffler" tips.
While under there I was going to adjust the clutch cable, but discovered this...Someone at sometime needed "more" adjustment and whittled up this "spacer." I've been looking though posts here and it looks like Control Cables in So Cal can set me up with the correct, sturdy 77" cable I need.

I'm not sure what build you have on your speedster, but I would think that Vintage Motorcars can sell you the cable you need if your other source can't.
Looks great. We should start referring to it as your speedster, as you are now the steward of this beautiful car.
Also, as mentioned above, VM did sell me all the related shortened cables- clutch/ heater boxes… I ourderedva gas pedal cable as well for a complete spare set… ( f you are in/near CA), I believe the Beck folks have them as well if you are closer to the other coast.

HaHa. I’m gonna have to bust a few more knuckles on this wonderful car before I can call it mine. Teby has been so helpful with info and history, and he gets all the credit for the build. I followed these for a few years on BaT before this one popped up. I really lucked out.

We stock custom made Speedster clutch cables, but our Beck uses 1975mm (77 3/4") so it may be a touch long for you if you need exactly 77".
I don’t really know ??? I’ll ask Teby if he ever put a cable in. That spacer that’s been installed makes me think the cable in it was too long to start with.
