Aaron, it's a damn shame Dusty has to be so immature about this situation...So it comes down to either we do what he wants or he's out of here...
I like Dusty, he is a very interesting dude, and adds a personality to the group, he was fun to have around, especially after a few drinks, but to think that any one of us leaving is going to change the complection of what we are all about is wrong thinking...

he will be the one missing us, not the other way around. this group is comprised of real people, not the posers in the Ferarri, or Porsche clubs, or any of the other clubs that he has cars for....

Tell the LMS she is welcome to any of our events, Dusty can just stay home and pout....
More Popcorn please.......;-)

Pismo in June next year will be fun for me with or without Dusty or anybody else for that matter. Lots of people I know will be there and I feel very stongly that those that do choose to attend the gathering will likely have a VERY good time.

Time for a beer....popcorn does that to me......;-)

I still for one would love for Dusty to translate this:

Adios, Amigos y Desugonzados

The first two words are easy. The last word does not compute in babblefish......any help?
Aaron,

I personally thanked Dusty, my husband did and so did my Parents. I also thanked him here on the site. Dusty always did a fantastic job planning our event, there is no doubt about that. I was one of the one's that said a change of venue would be nice. It is upsetting that he would get so upset over this and leave the group, I really thought we had a better relationship with him, heck Darrin and I even came to the National Gathering at his house! We are sad to loose him and LMS, but it won't change the fact that we all have a great time together and will continue to do so with or without him. This group out here on the West Coast is a great gang of people, they are kind, accepting and love to have fun. You really should come meet us to find out for yourself. Pismo?
Aaron,

You are definitely mistaken when you say no one thanked Dusty!! The applause he received from everyone when he arrived at any of the functions should have spoken volumes. I heard countless numbers of thanks spoken directly to Dusty while at the event and have read innumerable thanks here on the site since the event.

I don't know you personally, but it appears you waited for almost a month before poking at the beehive again to see what would happen. Shame on you!

Scott

PS I personally had a great exchange of e-mails with Dusty and my appreciation for his hard work was expressed each time!
HOLY CRAP BATMAN!

Evidently I missed this post. Well worth reading. It's too bad Dusty felt unappreciated, especially after many of us (me included) thanked him in person and on the site afterward. Now that the "true" feelings are out in the limelight and Dusty essentially threw us all under the bus, it's evident he needed to step down. This was our first year attending- let me recap our "first impressions":

- Morro Bay - not much to do there except buy a postcard, take a picture of the rock and roll out - Time for a change of scenery.
- The wine tour was poorly executed (blame it on whoever) and the majority of the group went somewhere else because of it. We lost over 2/3rds of the group after that cluster of a "wine tour" and "lunch" at Justin.
- FYI, not too many people want to hang out in a parking lot next to the nuclear plant for very long (this was evident after the entire group left 22 mins after we pulled in).
- The "banquet"? Really? I'm sorry but our whole table had to drink in order to not burst out in laughter while all the patting on the back was happening. No hard alcohol available though, cheap beer and wine only :) I'm willing to bet that $60 bucks per couple at Denny's would have netted a better meal.

I find it ridiculous (hilarious actually) that one would ask for ideas, suggestions, etc. from a "group", then publicly SMOTE someone like Jen and Blake who have the balls and experience to step up, speak up and make things happen. Hats off to you guys!

I've held this back but now no need- we met a lot of really awesome people at this years event. BUT- there was a HUGE disconnect the whole weekend and there were some cliques that sadly reminded me of my PCA experiences.

Look- we are all here for the love of cars. The cars become secondary though (or should) and that's when some solid friendships are made.

Like Vince said, we didn't vote you in and it appears you voted yourself off. Peace out! We're looking forward to see what Jen has in store for 2011!!!
