Dusty -- Ann and I have had a wonderful time at past 3 year's Paso / Morro events (last year was exceptional). We are looking forward to '09. But since I don't see the Event Announcement over on the spyder side of the board, are spyders still included?

Spyders are an important part of this whole thing (who would be have to pick on if you didn't come? Vince would get twice the abuse!) Plus we need Ann there to add to the beauty of the gathering. These good looking ladies are the only reason Morro Bay puts up with us.

Got the official "OK" from Carol tonight and we are planning to be there, even booked the room already. Getting to know the folks at the Colorado Gathering (and the Friday winery tour) really sealed it! Once again the RED TUB will be riding on a trailer.

(By the way, we took a 10 1/2 hour ride - 550 miles - to see the foliage in Arkansas two weekends ago and Carol had "tight jaws" the entire return trip. It's a good thing that I'm the only one that has a concealed carry permit! I can't imagine what a 24 hour - 1,500 mile - one way trip would do to her, or what she would do to me.)

In any event, can't wait to be there. Maybe Carol and I can do the trifecta in 2009 like MUSBJIM and Ginny did this year!

Cal - that's great news that you and Carol will be at Morro Bay! We're looking forward to seeing you there and taking you on some great tours through some beautiful back roads and beaucoup wineries!

Slight change in Saturday dinner... I quoted last year's dinner. Sorry! The price this year is $31 and you pay at the door when you arrive. We will have just over an hour for socializing before dinner. The really nice thing this year is we can all leave our cars at the hotel and walk to the Embarcadero as the hotel is about one-half block from the ocean front. (Does this mean Vince will drink more than usual? Maybe he will have to call Teri the "designated walker")

Reservations made! This is the most fun car event / road trip adventure of the year for us. Ann and I are really looking forward to it.

Vince - I think the parade committee might frown on using a slingshot to launch candy into the crowd! Maybe a potato gun?

More than one winery would be an option that would be welcomed. Lucky that we're trailering, Oklahoma doesn't allow shipments of alcohol into the state. Although having Carol straddle a couple of cases (of wine) driving back to the hotel might be a problem.

About the candy..... Suggest the ladies throw candy and the guys throw Mardi Gras beads to the girls that are "of age" - or does candy work just as well? Jim and Vince, you seem to be pretty "in tune" when it comes to this kind of thing. Any input?

Jim, we should all be afraid to ask for more information about the "pearls", but more frightened about what we get on Vince's "dollar menu"! We should all be comforted by the fact that Dusty is organizing the event and he and LMS will keep it first class. Thank you, Dusty!

Those booking early will get the covered parking so you should call in your room reservations as soon as possible. We are looking forward to seeing all of you again.

FRIDAY [April 24]
Arrive and check-in
1:00 pm - 2 hour back road winery tour
Leader = Blake & Jen Leong
3:30 pm - relax at hotel; shop down town
6:30 pm - meet at Great American Fish Company (order and pay individually)
SATURDAY [April 25]
9:00 to 10:00 - show cars at staging point (by Power Plant) & watch kite demonstrations
10:00 to 11:00 drive cars in town Parade (bring wrapped candy to distribute
along parade route). Regroup at Power Plant parking lot.
12:30 pm - drive to Cambria [lunch at 1:30 and see town]
Leader = Jim & Ginny Ignacio
5:00 pm - relax at hotel; socialize at pubs
6:30 pm - Dinner at Embarcadero Grill (upstairs) - ($31.00 includes dessert and
gratuity - cash bar) plus member

Be sure you Mom & Dad register on the Poll. Knowing how many to expect for each event lets me prepare the dinners/drives/etc.

We are really looking forward to seeing you and the whole group. It has been too long since last year and our Gathering here in Colorado was too short!

WOW! Only 6 days after releasing event data for Morro Bay 2009 and already we have 18 cars registered for an event 5 months away. We might break last year's number of 40 cars!
