Who needs a ride??? Come one, guys, this is a gathering of the best people in the western SOC and the cars are a great excuse to get together. The LMS and I went to the first two events WITHOUT A CAR!! We rented a (Lord, forgive me) Pontiac and still had a great time. You can do the same. I guarantee you will be having a good time and we will (almost) not notice what you are driving.
See you there.
Happy Trails,
Dusty and the LMS
PS
We just (tonight) got home from Sedona, Arizona, and the national "west coast holiday" for the 356 Registry. Had a great time and there were 251 cars (all 356's) in the Saturday Show. I will post details and pics soon.

The Registry show in Sedona sounds like heaven on earth. 250 cars!!! Unbelievable. And Sedona is one of my favorite places -- what's not to like? Maybe one of these days I'll try that show too. May have to get retired first -- hmmmm Pictures??

there are usually a few empty right seats, I am sure those without cars can be accomodated.
Dusty, where was the Sedona show held? And which resort was the host resort?
One of my favorite places in the USA.

I married my Beautiful wife Teri in Sedona...

I would not drive her coast to coast. But I might would fly out and start thumbing speedsters. to tag along.. Of course I would contribute to the expenses Of any volunteer Meals, fuel, Farting gifts I mean parting gifts..
I would enjoy the heck out of it.. But I never drive someones car If I my car could somehow be there I'd let someone else drive it. that knew the ares well.. No me I"m only brave on familiar turf.

The Morro Bay Poll is up! Get signed up now so we know who is going to be there. Having YOUR name up there will encourage others who may be undecided about coming. Let's make this the best annual gathering ever (and show up "those" folks on the Other Coast)
Happy Trails,

I'm thinking of making the trip down and was wondering if there are others from the "Great North wet" not a typo...Portland, Or. area doing the same. Would like to hook up and caravan down.

Last year I had to cancel last minute due to military commitments, but this year I will definately be there.
Kelly Frazer has signed up for the Morrow Bay event and is looking
for a right seat for the event. Anyone want to hook up with Kelly email him directly. He has a post at the bottom of this events section under "what did you do with your car this weekend"
I may head down and meet my bride somewhere in CA since she wants to fly and avoid the long drive. Won't know for sure until we are closer to event time. Will hook up with the OR, WA and perhaps the BC folks for a caravan.

I'm still planning on being there. The "hows" are still undecided. Driving? (911 or Speedster?) Flying? (With the wife or solo? prefer the wife to come along). As it gets closer I'll make final plans. I work better under pressure. :)
Dusty,
Jim is right, I'll be needing one of those stickers for my mirror.

The NW is good for smooth skin and great hair... Worked for Angela obviously but not me based on the goofy hat in my pic.

Mickey--meet me in Little Rock on Interstate 40 and we'll drive together.
I believe we may have a few or folks caravaning to Morrow Bay.
I guess we should start organizing the trip with meeting places along some route.
Hoss posted a note about not missing the part of Route 66 that runs from Seligman AZ to Needles, CA. Gonna be some adventure, I'm thinking.

Just signed up and took the poll. I want to make sure that I am part of the wine tour, it was not on the survey. Let me know if I missed something.
Jim,
The wine tours are most of the day Saturday. It is a terrific trip around backcountry roads to three wineries with lunch in the middle of the tour and a stop on top at a high spot for terrific pictures of the coastline. It is being led by Jim ( MUSBJIM ) and Ginny who are known as great drive leaders. After the tour is a bit of a rest break and then the banquet. Be sure to read all the directions about the banquet tickets and the Brown Bag Gift.
Also, be sure to get your room reservation in early to get the great $99 SOC rate.
See you there!

Wow---up to 23 cars and counting. How many were at Morro Bay last year?
Jack - I think we had 40+ Speedsters/Spyders at Morro Bay 2009. Our Saturday morning caravan was more than a mile long. Quite a site on Hwy 1 as we headed north to tour the wine country back-roads.
Imagine yourself in these pics driving your newly powered Speedster catching some rays!!!

EXCELLENT DECISION!!
Tomm,
That is great news! You are going to really enjoy this meeting. The daily drives promise to be fun and the evening dining will be filling.
Anyone who does not have their reservations in should do so pretty quick before the rooms are all spoken for. Also, be sure to register on the POLL for the events you plan on attending in order for us to get everything arranged.
MUSBJIM and Ginny will be leading the tour I have laid out for Saturday and they are going to make a practice run a few weeks prior to the event so you know it will be well led and have plenty of time to enjoy the sites and the stops as planned.
One more thing... now is the time to get creative with your Brown Bag Gift. Last year we had some really inventive things show up. I bet this year will outdo it by a long shot.
See you in Morro Bay.
Happy Trails,
Dusty and LMS
