Don't they have the date wrong? The opening statement says "The weekend of May 16th through the 18th..." That's when the Carlisle show took place. Wasn't Morro Bay a few weeks earlier?

YEP IT WAS APRIL 26TH

I think the author was suffering from too much time on the road traveling between Morro Bay and Carlisle.

And then there was the exploding tire incident, and the wind, and more wind, and even MORE wind....

don't blame me! I sent in a couple of notices about BOTH of our gatherings. Their "editors" mixed whatever !! I NEVER make meesteaks! (Says he ... LMS). Anyway, we got coverage and maybe it will encourage others to join us and have as much fun as we are.

Yup, that's the point. Get the word out that we're all gettin' together for an "Event" and we're havin a whole lot of fun and maybe we'll get a few more NEXT year on BOTH coasts (and in between coasts, too!)

Good job Dusty. I doubt anyone will notice or care about the date, other than us. The point is the good publicity. I'm not sure why, other than more of us clowns to get together, but it sounds good.

I think he meant "pineheads" (short for pineapple heads) but his typing skills weren't up to the job.

In Guamaniac speak, 'frined' is Pineapplehead equivalent to Mexican speak for 'gabacho' or Vince speak for 'mook! :-)

We corrected the dates for the Speedsters By The Sea story on the KIT CAR Magazine Web site. Riding around in such a timeless Speedy replica like the Johnsons have built, it's easy to lose track of time!

Thanks, Brian. It was probably my mistake. I have saved money by using old calendars but the name of the months seem to have been rubbed off.

Eddie and I missed you on the drive this year.

The '07 event in Paso Robles was a blast, especially riding around with you, Eddie, Scott, and Dale. What a hoot that was. Hopefully, there won't be an event conflict in 2009. I'd prefer covering a Morro Bay or Central California outing to Knott's, but Knott's has been around so long that I'm compelled to cover it for KIT CAR Magazine.

So did I, Brian. I sure hope to make it down to the Central Coast event in 2009. I really hated missing the '08 event.

I make a motion that at next year's Morro Bay SOC event, ANY driving-tour where either Eddie or Terry are trip leaders should be called "The SOC Cannonball Run"! :-)
