The fiberglass absorbed much of the impact and transferred the rest of the impact to the frame structure. There was little to no distortion of the frame. We used most of the old fiberglass because it was well cured and matched the curvature that we needed.
The insurance company and adjuster were very responsive. It all went down pretty smoothly - not to say I am anxious to do it again anytime soon.
