Richard---I think you nailed it, my friend!

So---who else is arriving at the Hilton on Thursday afternoon?

Wednesday, Sept 7 Alice and I are driving from Hot Springs to Nashville and will spend the night there. (I have to drop a banjo off to have some work done to it.)

So we will arrive at the Hilton, Biltmore Park Thursday afternoon at 3 or 4 PM.

Anyone else planning to be there Thurs night?
Folks, here is Tom Raymond's summary of the Friday festivities:

For the BMW tour, these are my details:

cost of tour is $7.00 pp, cash

11:30 AM meet in front of Hilton, pass out waivers & directions
11:45 AM depart Hilton
lunch along the way @ ________________________
1:45 PM arrive BMW plant
2:15 PM tour begins (no sandals, flip flops or open toed shoes. no cameras or phones)
4 PM tour ends, return to Asheville

Aaron, can you provide a similar summary on Saturday? I will do the same for Sunday once I locate the email from the Biltmore folks.

EDIT: Ok, here's the info for Sunday at the Biltmore. I have asked them if we will be able to pick up our tickets on Friday or Saturday as we did last year. Cost of tickets is $40 per person.

7:45 - Enter Biltmore for photo shoot at front of mansion
8:30 - Move cars to special parking area set aside for us at the far end of the lawn looking back at the mansion.
Note: These two items, and the personnel provided to guide us and ensure our cars are safe while we tour cost $100, which has already been paid.
8:30 - 12:30 - Self-guided tour of mansion and grounds.
12:30 - 1:30 - Lunch at The Bistro. Separate checks. We will be at two separate tables due to the size of the group, but they will locate us as close together as possible.
1:30 - whenever - Continued self-guided tour of the estate.
The list of emails that I have received. Gleaning the site, is not a safe means, I can't set for over an hour; don't want any mistakes on my part! ;~)

The Saturday tour: We'll discuss Friday night...The Diamondback is a drive just to arrive at the starting place Little Switzerland, South on the Blue Ridge Parkway is at a higher elevation, more scenic, but less facilities. Your choice of drive and how long you can set in your Speedy!!!!

Tom... That restaurant well, Bad News NO LONGER OPEN! I was there yesterday...There is a Zagby's, Atlanta Bread Company and O'Charlies next door. Exit 49A, east on 64 through a couple of lights into the Wal-Mart complex. There is also a Golden Corral on the right.
It's a beautiful drive on the Blue Ridge for much of the trip between Aaron's place and the Hilton. It takes about an hour as I recall, and it's worth it to get to Lynne Ardan, assuming you get to Asheville not too tuckered out. Beware of his driveway! You may need some mules to help pull you up it.

I will be in town on Thursday as well, but will be visiting with my inlaws. I'll see y'all Friday morning at the Hilton.
I now have most email meal choices, but still nothing from Mike Lempert in the Healy.

Lane do you know his selection???

At the present, I have no weather concerns. Storms that come up out of the Gulf, Alabama and Westward stick to the Western side of the mountains. However, if it comes through Georgia or South Carolina yes, the possibility of rain in the books. Mornings are in the mid 60s, but the temp creases by about 25-30 degrees in the late afternoon.
I will check with him this weekend. I reminded him last week to send you an email. Obviously that didn't happen.

Regarding the weather - I am not as much worried about the storm in the gulf, although that might affect Jack, Richard, and Felix and their right seaters on the trip east. But if Katia looks like it's going to hit near Charleston with any force I won't be in the Speedster. In that case, Pam and I would be in our daily drivers with the dogs, insurance records, etc.

I just love hurricane season.
We anticipate about 15 - 20" of rain over the next several days winds are up to 20 - 30 mph gusts right now mill is getting ready to buckle down for a blow. We will see what the next several days bring, I see Asheville rain chances changed from 0 to 30% since this AM. You guys have to figure out how to move that away from there.

Felix drop me an email on your trip plans
