Sorry to hear you can't make it Felix. First Marty and Sandy, now you and yours, we'll try to post some photos but as far as video go, we had depended on Sandy doing another great presentation. Take care and maybe Mountain Madness III?

Felix was looking foreword to it but there will more times to get together. Looks like we may head out Tuesday afternoon to Chattnooga and ride Wed and Thursday Asheville.

Weather prognostications are looking better. Katia is strongly expected to head north, and Lee (the gulf thing) is expected to be over by then. Fingers (and toes) crossed.

Gotta get a coat of wax on the car this weekend. Otherwise it's just as it was for Carlisle.

As a First Timer to this event or as that goes any event I have a question.

Where do you park your "treasures" at the Hilton hotel???

The Hilton has a parking garage right next to it. It is in a very good part of town, and you will have no worries.

Felix---well just durn. We were very much looking forward to being with youin Asheville but Trust me--I understand about new CEOs. I know you will knock his socks off with your presentation.

MOUNTAIN WEATHER UPDATE:

Raining in Lake Lure and Western North Carolina...6 to 10 inches, flood warnings have been issued! The two storms are meeting moving parallel with the Appalachians separating Lee and Katia. A low pressure ridge is slowing down the movement of Lee (North x Northeast). Friday's predicted temperatures.. High 78 and low of 58! 30% chance of rain!

Looking forward to seeing all. I plan to meet you all at the hotel upon your return from BMW. Keep in mind as to which drive you want to take...South on the Blue Ridge Parkway or I-40 to Marion then traverse the Diamondback with lunch at Little Switzerland. I'll have maps at the hotel. Input please. Those that need or desire a little company Thursday give me a call @ 828-674-988o.

Last call for your German meals will Wednesday at 12:00 hours.

Blue ridge and Diamond Back? Or I40 and Diamond Back or do both routes involve the Diamond Back? If both I vote Blue Ridge if not I40.

I-40 to Marion, NC is the quickest route to the Diamondback. Pick-up the Diamondback off 221. Driving from Ashville to Little Switzerland is a long drive via the Parkway just to get to the start.

Can we I-40 to Marion, Diamondback- lunch and laugh, then BRP home to Asheville in time for our private dinner room?

This route gets my vote.... do I have a second??

OK I just finished cutting the downed trees off my fence and am getting it patched up. Yard can wait till I get home. No excuses time to ride the mountains....
I don't see anyone getting excited. Aaron you pick the roads drive your drive we will keep up.

Supposed to be... second seater order is in the the driver's name. Why, he pays! Example: Richard P ordered Drunken Chicken and Alpine Butter Steak. Richard's 2nd seater will be seating with him. Makes it easier for the waiters.

Should be fun---some interesting reviews on Trip Advisor.

Aaron, the sauce on the side request is for my wife's Jager Schitzel not my butter steak. I think we can tell the waitress when we get there. We'll see ya'll soon, everyone drive careful.

Yes, gents it has! German Meal selections have been sent to The Bavarian as shown above. Note that were names appear twice under one selection or under different choices that is the second seater's meal or drivers.

See you all Friday at the hotel. Dinner at 6:30/7:00. I won't join the BMW tour as I want to go easy on the knee. I'll have maps, etc. to hand out just in case a few get lost!!! %~)

Yes it does! In less than 24 hours I will be in the mountains. WOOHOO!!

Our adventure to NC may be in jeopardy. S & I have been suffering from terrible head colds and sinus infections. Tomorrow is the drop dead day and we will have to make a decision. We'll let you know.

S & I have made a compromise. We will arrive on Saturday PM and be part of that night's dinner and festivities and do the Biltmore on Sunday, probably heading home after lunch. That gives us another day to rest up, give the antibiotics more time and not totally miss this annual event (again). See you all Saturday afternoon when you return from your driving adventure.
