Looking to purchase this pump--anyone have pics how they have it mounted?
Does anyone install a T between the filer and tank to be able to drain the tank or to change out the filter down the road. Pics would be helpful so I do this ONCE

Should had mentioned running an 1835 with dual 40 dells--still in the process of sorting---well, aren't we all!!!
Mount it on the horizontal surface below the tank with a piece of rubber under it to make it quieter . Use two large rubber-metal straps to secure the pump, be sure to put a in line filter between the tan and the pump.
A few of us have a shut-off valve in the line between the tank and the filter (before the pump) to facilitate swapping the filter.
I think I am the only guy running a "T" after the shutoff valve, but I run a gasoline heater and that's how I feed it.
If you don't have a shutoff valve, it's pretty easy to clamp the tank hose with a pair of vise grips to stop the flow while swapping the filter or servicing the pump.
Just don't let the vice grips slip. Seems I heard a story about that recently.
I'll be installing an electric fuel pump and filter in my buggy this year. I like the idea of installing a shut-off valve. Makes changing the filter much easier and it would also be useful when pulling the engine.

Ha, I've got a pair of vice grips on my Thing's fuel line right now.
No vise grip here--summit racing sells these that work great (wing nut type screw down clamp)--hope pic posts.
So nothing negative said about the Carter pump so looks like a go. Pulling tank to replace master cylinder any way and new tank in route. So----getting closer.
Going to run a T after tank before filter for down the line maintenance.
No pics out there to see you most awesome work??????
Anyone know the recommended fuel pressure for Dell 40's --planning on running a regulator to dial them in.
2.5 - 3 pounds. They supposedly like it closer to 2.5 (weak pilot valves) but I've been running 3-ish for a long time w/o troubles.
I thought that dual Dells don't require a pressure regulator. Mine are set up with the fuel line from the pump straight to the drivers side carb and then straight to the passenger side car, no regulator or "T".
This has worked fine for 6 years. My only problem was a hole in the float on the drivers side carb. That is no fun!

I just ordered a pair from Amazon. 
The line pinchers work great--beside I need the grips to be able to reach my beer when I'm under the car--alligator arms--lol
You're right, Bob. If you use a Carter pump or its equivalent from CB Performance then you can run straight in without the regulator. I don't have a regulator, either, plus, I'm running a 3/8" ID fuel line from the pump to the engine's left carb banjo.
Ordered the Carter 60504 from Amazon--$45 shipped.

Putting a valve before the first filter just adds to the number of joins which could leak.
Use vice grips to temporarily clamp the line closed when you do the filter change. Doesn't hurt the hose because it's only on for 5 minutes.
One pair upstream of the filter and another downstream before the pump.
You may clamp off the rubber fuel line with a vice-grip all winter long, if you wish.
I'll use a valve.
