What is the length of the stock speedometer cable on a current model Vintage Speedster?
What length should be ordered to accommodate a VDO speedometer on the right (period correct) side?

I moved mine to the right with the stock cable and it was fine. The bus cable is too long.
I did the same. I think there's much to do about nothing on the length of this speedo cable.

Rusty- how did you use the original cable? I had to use a bus cable, for on the VS it comes in way to the left and just barely makes it to the VDC- cable was showing tight bends. Yes, the bus cable length does effect speed slightly and I do not like the extra length under the dash. So, for now using the bus cable until some other length comes up.
Some super beetle cables are 2-piece, so avoid them.
Mucho easier to just get the longer "standard" cable at 54.7 inches: 113957801A

Well.. I must have a super beetle cable on mine then. Mine comes in on the far left and makes a pretty aggressive turn to the right then into the speedo. I haven't had any trouble with it.
