Bill Webster left yesterday afternoon on a cruise to Newcombe Ranch in the Angeles Crest Highway, and has not returned home yet....
people are worried, but nothing can be done till he is missing for 48 hrs. Gerd is on his way right now to try and find him, anyone else in the area who is cruising today keep your eyes open...
or if you are just hanging out and need something to do....

If I find out he picked up some nymphomaniac and is just shacking up somewhere, I will be pissed..but glad that he is still alive..

Hello everyone this is Carrol, Gerd's girlfriend

This is a sad story about a great guy and very good friend.

Note that I don't have first hand information from the police but I did call Newcombs Ranch about one hour ago and talked to them - there were some riders that were telling the story of what happened yesterday.

They said that he was in the gray porsche and he was going around a corner and that the car flipped over and he hit a fence. It was a single accident fatality.

God bless him, we love you Bill and Nancy
I am so - so sorry. Mr. Bill and I hung around together, when we all went to Morro Bay. I met him at his house two months ago, and we went in his speedster down to Vintage Speedsters to see Kirk. Bought some touch up paint and sweatshirts, etc. Does any have any details about the accident? Gerd, Jim, Vince - - please keep us all posted.
I never met Bill face-to-face, but I got some snail mail from him with a calling car included for "Bill's Beer Removal Service"

Quite a card, and he must have been quite the guy, from reading his posts on here.

This is truly a sad day when one of "our own" is lost, and my sincerest sympathies go out to his wife and close friends on here. these are supposed to be fun cars - this stuff isn't supposed to happen...

Gordon

I & KIrk have never met or spent time with a kinder, gentle or such a sweet, sweet Man. He will be greatly missed. I could go on here of the 1st time we met at the shop but I'm not even close to going there yet. Such a different person than he was when we first met and entering into a very exciting part of his life.
I hope all of us remember him with kindness in our souls.
Not very long ago Bill dropped us a note to "Thank" us for pushing him into SOC Events. He thought very highly of his new found friendships and made that very clear. I'll try to find that for you.
He loved each and every one of you (especially the onces that ran with him on a consistent basis) should know he held a special place in his heart for.
With Regrets Only..
Mary
Mary- thank you.

He will truly be missed. My heart goes out to everyone here who knew him best and Nancy & his family.

I'm picturing the first time Rebecca and I met him, he was wearing that nascar hat of his, with the spoiler.

It's easy at these car events to get caught up in just talking about the cars, but Bill was different- he genuinely wanted to know what you were about, and he made us laugh.

I have some videos of our last run up Angeles crest with Bill & Barkley, etc. I'll try to find time this weekend to edit & post it.

One helluva guy.
Teresa and I met Bill at Carlisle. He was a really interesting guy. Like Gordon, I have one of his cards, advertising Mr. Bill's Beer Removal Service.
We truly enjoyed his company. I hope we're reaching out to his family. Gerd, Vince, Jim et al, let us know what we can do to help them, okay?

R.I.P., Bill.
I have had a few Oh $hit moments, when my driving enthusiasm overcame my skill level. Most of you can relate. Now is a good time for everyone to pull out that insurance policy and check to see what is says. Remember: insurance companies DON'T play nice.

If you are on a restricted mileage policy, find out what the limit is, and abide by it. If it's not enough miles, increase it. If it says you can only drive to sanctioned events, then only drive to sanctioned events (can anyone really do that?). We're not fooling the insurance companies when we don't follow the restrictions, they're fooling us, since they will collect your premiums and deny coverage in a heartbeat if they can find a discrepancy, and they will look. I'm not a fan of insurance companies, but, compared to the size of our car investments and peace of mind for public liability and property damage, it's a bargain.

Safe traveling, everyone.
I have been sharing my thoughts
God I miss my friend
Bill, Nancy, Carrol and I had plans to grow old together and have lots of fun. Jim is right about ins
What I found out with Bill's death is u have to have everything in place to take care of your loved ones
I know I want Carrol to be taken care of if something happens to me
Check your ins policies.
Thank u Jim great idea
We drive cars that are only slightly safer than an motorcycle, I know this because up till last year I was also a biker....
We have lost several members here (George B. and Jim W. to name a few) but to the best of my knowledge this is the first death due to one of our tubs..I have been a member of the SOC since 03 or 04 and knowing how some of US drive these things, this is an amazing statistic...I have lost at least half a dozen friends on bikes in that same period...i don't know what all this means, except as the sticker alludes, live each day to it's fullest...I think Bill did that, at least since we knew him...
