Appropriate and relevant post Jim! This thread has me reflecting on a lot of things, as it should, thank you for sharing your thoughts.Going to re-evaluate the ins. situation as a result of this sad situation, some of us don't think about that until you need it,then its too late. Some good will transpire from this terrible event. The SOC family is inspiring!
Jim and Vince, good reminder. That was my point a couple of days ago on another post. For me this serves as a stark reminder of my minimal skills when I'm pushing Luftig. My guess, there are maybe 3 0r 4 regular visitors to this website who can handle these little beauties when there on the edge. Causes me to think of my limitations. But speed and interaction with the car are very addictive.

It's easy to make a mistake in these cars and they can be very unforgiving.

Lost another friend, Lionel (spyderclub) a couple of years ago while driving his car. I didn't know Bill had died. He's one of my facebook buddies, hadn't heard form him in a few weeks...
Bill is a genuinely nice guy - miss him. Vaya con Dios mi amigo.

I saw Bill last at Sierramadrecollection's open house not to long ago. We chatted a while and he shared some pictures with me of the work his son has done and does. I always had the impression he was very, very proud of his son - I have never met him, but I hope he reads this.
Bill was a friendly guy, pleasant to spend time with. It's a sad story.
I live right by ACH and have personally seen a lot of accidents and 2 fatalities ... it's not worth it. Be careful with those highly powered engines on a somewhat vintage pan!
