Hi all, I have just acquired a CMC Porsche Speedster unfinished kit that has never been registered and upon going through the paperwork found there is not an MSO. I contacted the previous owner, who bought the kit from CMC sometime around the mid 90's, and he said he never got an MSO and didn't really know what that was. I purchased a Street Beast (CMC started out as FiberFab, then Classic Motor Carriages, then Street Beast) AC Cobra kit around 2003 and received an MSO for it, so I think there should have been an MSO for the Speedster?

Does anyone out there have an MSO for a Porsche Speedster kit that they do not intend to use and would be willing to part with for a reasonable sum?

Looking forward to finishing the Speedster and getting it on the road soon.

Thanks, Earl

In the two states in which I have registered a replica, someone else's MSO wouldn't have been of use, since the MSO has to be in the name of the person registering the vehicle. You may want to check with FL Motor Vehicles to find out what alternative process is available. In CA, you must sign and present a notarized statement regarding the info which would be contained in an MSO, along with other docs re engine cost, tranny, etc. etc. Others have gone through this in FL, no sense re-inventing the wheel.
Earl.

Skip the MSO and go with the VW title. I know, I know, you don't have one. You do have the VW VIN on the tunnel, right?

There's a company in Vegas that can help you out.

I've used them before (recommended to me by someone else). Pay the money, sign the paperwork, and a couple of weeks later you will get a set of Maine license plates and title in the mail.

Take that down to Florida with the car and do a state transfer. Done. Badda-bing-badda boom.

PERFECT!

I had to use the company above for my husband's cabby. It was a non-comforming VIN for a gray market car. It was registered in NJ (expired for several years), then sold in Florida (mechanics lien). The seller provided me the title from NJ, then went on a very long sabbatical. Then I lost the title.... Whatta nightmare.

Those title dudes got me everything I needed.

With Maine haring a border with Massachusetts, a state that wants to rue everything and get all of the money for itself, expect that loop hole in the title laws to close soon.

Didn't everyone used to receive Georgia titles a few years ago? Now Maine seems to be the weapon of choice.

Massachusetts is exactly like it's former governor Dukakis. A tiny little shit with a classic short man complex who always thinks that he's right.

Looks like a puppet-toon with that giant head and tiny body. Worst yet is that the Dems saw that and said, Yup! That fuckin' freak's our man !"

Tc boldly typed: "With Maine haring a border with Massachusetts" which, when the typos are fixed implies that Maine shares a border with Massachusetts?

What geography class did YOU flunk?

Or is Salisbury now part of Portsmouth?

He goes on to type (with another typo, I guess): "a state that wants to rue everything"

I didn't know that Massachusetts ever felt remorse - they just keep plodding ahead, making the same mistakes!!
