Posting to gauge interest in a cruise up Mt. Palomar in north San Diego county on July 30, 2016 (Saturday).
Meet 10:00 Saturday morning where Hwy 76 intersects 215 Fwy. More details to follow.
Cruise up Palomar Rd., check out observatory, cruise down toward Henshaw Lake viewpoint for lunch (pack a picnic lunch), then points homeward. This cruise typically takes 3 hours.

Details for Mt. Palomar cruise;
WHEN: 10:00AM, Saturday, July 30th
WHERE: Park & Ride lot on Hwy 76 where it intersects the 15 Fwy. There is a Circle K & Mobil gas station at that location.
WHAT: Pack a lunch & drinks, as there are limited food options where we will be traveling. Travel East on 76 to South Grade Rd, connect with S-6 to Palomar Observatory. Self-tour through Observatory. Travel back down to East Grade Rd to Henshaw Lake Overlook for lunch. Continue down to Hwy 76 and points homeward. Cruise time approximately 3 hrs.

For those of you that might wanna stay the night.. Temecula isn't that far from this run... with it's Casino's and down town fun too... Let me know.. Lili and I might be up for that too... There's a couple of nice places to stay too... with good parking for Speedies
We may stay with friends who live in Temecula, but could party a bit with any of you who stay at a hotel or Casino!

Looks like the heat is calming down Saturday for the ride. Warmest looks to be 94 in the Temecula area but most of route 76 will be in the low 80's.
I think I'm going to make it to this. No speedster because I'll have both boys, but I have other 4 seater toyzzzzzz... besides I have not hung out with you knuckle heads for awhile...
Speedster D - will b good to see you & Lili on this cruise, probably easier if you just met us all at the rendezvous on Hwy 76 and 15 fwy.

Heat wave is subsiding slightly. We will be driving through temps ranging from mid-80s to low-90s. Bring water/drinks and snacks/lunch.

I love this SOC Tribe, one I am definitely glad I joined. All great people and lots of fun and...a lot of experience and knowledge to be gained here. My GF is equally glad to be part of this group, and we were both entertained listening to Trevors dad's stories of how he became such a talented builder and engineer. Speedster D, we were not going to leave without you buddy and it was nice to meet you and Lili!
