So far there is four of us who are ready to go. That's about two weeks from now so if you're up for it, give me a post so I'll look for you.  I found a place up there that may be a good back-drop for some photos of your car. We are still meeting at the Hill Street Cafe in La Canada at the corner (Tee actually) of Angeles Crest Hwy and Foothill Blvd. next to the 210 fwy. It's about a 50 mile round trip on some nice curvy/hilly roads. We can visit a couple of the telescopes up there as well as look over the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area.......Bruce

Hi Will....It's probably one of the larger reasons  we bought these cars. A guy from Chicago wanted to buy Rhonda while we were getting gas on Sat.  I saw him again up on Angeles Crest Hwy on his Honda Gold Wing.  Also saw a helicopter coming down to take a motorcycle rider out. It looked pretty bad. His Bike was folded in half on the bottom. We have a friend who works at a hospital close by who says they get parallelized bike riders every week from Angeles Crest Hwy. They try to be "Ricky Racer" on this road, hit a tiny amount of sand or just slip on the painted yellow lines and off or over the side they go. But then again, I used to think life was forever, I was made of steel and too good of a driver to have that happen to me !  Now it's more enjoyable and I just pull over in the turnouts to let the "Ricky Racers" go by. On occasion I catch up with them with their bike or car laying somewhere it shouldn't.

I've been thinking about doing a trip over Angeles Crest Hwy to Palmdale-Lancaster on Hwy 14 to 395, then on 178 to Lake Isabella-Kernville, stay for a night and head back through an old small village called Havilah, head down to Hwy 58, back over to 395, 14 and over on Angeles Crest again. Probably in Jan or Feb. Anyway...it's a plan.

Another trip I have been thinking about would be to just go over on Angeles Crest Hwy  to a friends vineyard/winery in Agua Dolce. Maybe in late Spring or even later when he's bringing in the grapes for crushing. That may be of interest to some of us.......................Bruce

Sorry to hear that Rusty but I'm sure it was for a good reason. I know you and Jim like to drive around here even more than I do.

Since the list is getting shorter instead of longer...I'm going to call it a CANCELED for Sept. 24.  I'm heading for Mexico to dive my brains out for a while so I will try to set this up in late January 2017 sometime. Too many other commitments between now and then. Maybe I'll offer free beer and salted in the shell peanuts next time but only if they're consumed while driving those curvy roads!  Ha ha !!

By the way....Don't forget to go to the Arboretum here in Arcadia on Oct.1. That's when they will have "Birds in the Park" car show. It will be  Ford Thunderbird's displayed throughout the park. The park is beautiful and so will the cars and how they are displayed. I'm just sorry I won't be here to go.

I guess I'll go to Car n Coffee at O.C. fair grounds on the 24th......Cheers to you all ! Bruce

You are in Mexico until January? Listen, if you need a house sitter I'm your guy!!!

Donna's cousin and her husband just sold their home in Escondido and are moving to Arizona. The 24th is the only weekend they have available for a last family get together here. So we'll be throwin' down in Escondido and hopefully not throwing up!

Thank You Rusty but I already have two house sitters. The good part is that they both don't know how to use any of my tools so I don't even have to worry about that !  If you were to house sit I still wouldn't worry because they (the tools) wouldn't feel abandoned !

Yup , I can't wait to jump into 89 degree water, look down into the blue, and hear nothing but my bubbles as I drift off into a weightless state of being. Fishing for yellowtail will be starting, chocolate clams are always available, manos de lion scallops, lobsters and burro conch too. That, coupled with with local ranch made goat cheese, fresh goat in my crock-pot wrapped in home made corn tortillas, all of which will be drenched in my own recipe of chimchuri  just extends my pleasure. Also, I get to scare the crap out of the neighborhood kids on Halloween and celebrate Dia de Los Muertos at the local cemetery a couple days later. In December, on Christmas eve, I get to celebrate midnight mass at the first and oldest mission in all of the California's (Loreto BCS).......Bruce
