Anyone know anything about Mufacar Brazil?

I think the rule is that if you buy a VW chassis south of the border, you cannot title it in the states. But I could be worng, I just rememeber hearing this.

Maybe you could buy one depending on the year of manufacture?

The pictures are interesting, but I can't read a thing. Do those bodies come in aluminum?
How hard would that be? Order up one of THOSE and fire it up on an American-market bug chassis?

Thanks for the help. I'll read a bit on the site, but the chassis looks like it's a head and shoulders above the grade I've hacked to death. Looks like there might be IRS hard points on the frame horns, too. What a deal. What's the exchange rate on the currency? Is it the Real?

I found them on a Brazilian equilivent of ebay. My Portugese is poor, but the Spyder shown had a tube frame, seemed like a fairly complete kit, and only R 6500. I am awaiting an email reply to find out exactly what is included at that cost, total costs, etc and will advise the list.

Their website leaves a lot to be desired, and it looks like a great deal of the products are vapourware, but might be worth checking out.

Robert; beware as such a kit might be a nightmare to get registered in the US....

I am in thailand so no matter what it is a nightmare. Unless recycling an existing Thai registration, private import is impossible.
