I switched over and it is a very nice setup. Naturally it wasn't plug-and-play but nothing is. Found out I needed a little more spread on the end piece which consists of the 2 mufflers and exhaust pipe so I threw it over my garage rafters and bounced and hung on it for a couple minutes. It got me enough leeway to finally fit the bolts on.

Good sound, but I kind of miss my straight pipes (which I still have) and it does rob a bit of power, at least from mine.
Patrick,

As far as I know (And I'm sure I'll be corrected if I am wrong), unless the headers are treated with something like JetCoat, the intense heat, particularly at the cylinder head, will cause Spyder exhausts to rust just like any other exhaust system.

If the rust you are seeing is just surface rust, it's not a big deal. If it is what I call "rot" then you'll need to install a new system...But even that's not a real big deal....A few $$, some time, a few busted knuckles, some cussing and several Guiness Stout and you'll be in good shape.

Badapaq, Go to www.spyderclub.com: forum: tech general;about 34 & 35 posts down "Vintage Exhaust in a Beck II."[you can backtrack from there to Vintage exhaust I]. I installed the Vintage on my Beck, [CB 2165 with some mods.,188hp] The thread sited above will help, but I strongley recommend this addition. Much more pleasant on long cruises, much better on neighbors, didn't notice much loss of power, but do feel a positve increase in lower end torque. I did have to do some rejetting of carbs and am closer now to proper mixture than ever before. There are a few "adjustments" that MAY have to be made but they are easy and well worth the effort. Good Luck, I think you will agree it was well worth the cost.
