Do most of the CB performance engines come with that twin tip system. It that really enough flow to handle their basic 1915 engine?

They don't come with an exhaust system. You purchase that separately. Many of us prefer the A1 Sidewinder.
Is that the one that uses J pipes? Mine is a single muffler with one pipe and I would like to go to the twin pipe.
thanks, Lane.
J-pipes are just replacements for the heater boxes if you don't want or need heat. They are independent of the header, which work work with either. I have heater boxes with my Sidewinder system. Go online to several of the VW parts vendors and study your options.
Take a look at these guys. They have exhaust systems built just for replicas. They will also do custom modifications. I bought an exhaust from them but have not yet completed my engine. Quality workmanship and fast delivery.

4 tubes dumping into a can is not a "header". A header is almost always a 4-into-1 (I'll not get into a try-Y here), where the primaries (the pipes coming off the heads) are equal(ish) length, and dump into a long, single pipe collector. If the collector diameter is right, and the tubes are the right size and length, the pulse waves of each exhaust event actually draw a vacuum on the other primary tubes. It's super-cool, and gives some amazing benefits.
You get none of that with a monza exhaust, or any other non-header arrangement.
Hey Stan. I finally got around to removing the exhaust I built, getting it welded and ceramic coated along with my stock vw/audi tri-Y headers and down pipes. It sounds great and now its going to look great. I'll post picks when I get it back. Sorry. Thread drift.

I looked at them, and thanks James. They're a bit pricey so I might try to find some used units on the forum website.
Meade, check he Samba if you want used.
Do you think they're more restrictive? (The muffler)? I think they look more original.
