Ginny & I spent the past few days at one of our favorite get-aways, Moonstone Beach (Central California Coast). One day we drove up Hwy 1 to Monterey for the day and back. Stop along the way near Big Sur and had our picnic lunch on the beach. Next day while Ginny was shopping in Cambria, I went back up Hwy 1 for another drive and a few pics and video. Here is a very short clip of a bit of that drive...

Jimbo.
Wish I would have known you and Ginny were going to be there.  Sally and I were also there celebrating our one year anniversary and we could have met up.  We had dinner at the Olde Port Inn in Avila Beach on Saturday and did the drive up Hwy 1 to Monterey on Sunday and ate lunch at Rugged Point.  Beautiful weekend.

My dream was to travel down Highway 1 in California since I was old enough to drive. In 1998 my buddy Rob Lewis and I went on a mission to bring two truck loads of old beetles back to West Virginia to celebrate the intro of the new Beetle at our dealership.  While in Huntington beach we bought a 1963 356 coupe and drove back to San Diego that evening. I looked over at my buddy and said "The damn plane can crash on the way home but I'll still have this smile on my face!" What a dream come true.....and you guys experience it all the time.

Good for you Jim!  Enjoy the ride.  Tom Buchanan
