The "Speedstah Guy" Has driven an MX-5.

Or, more specifically, I have driven a "Spec Miata" around Summit Point Raceway, pretty much at speed (or, at least, as fast as I was willing ro push it) in a "Spec Series" race.  A "Spec Miata" is one set up to detailed specifications to enable it to race in its class.  This requires no engine or suspension modifications (no turbo in the class I supported), although the interior can be gutted for weight gains, and a full roll cage and 5-point harness is mandatory, as well as a hard top, a fuel ceel and a few other mods.

That said, the MX-5 is one amazingly agile and neutral car that takes thrashing well and keeps on handling well beyond the limits of most drivers.

Take all that learned from past models and put that really sexy body on it, and I think you'll have a winner, regardless of whether it's considered a "secretary's car" or not.  while it is way to refined to be compared to a Speedster, it is one hell of an automobile, none-the-less.

My wife loves her '09 MX-5 and says she'll never let it go. They do handle very well have all the bells and whistles and hers only has 35,000 miles .When she sees the new ones things may change. My only problem is the interior is cramped and the seats don't recline very much unless you pull the seats forward, and then you lose leg room. Great car for a spirited back road blast but not so much for a long highway run.
