Herbert -for what its worth, if you've checked all other obvious problem areas try this also. On the steering column there is a rubber flange coupler. I believe there should be a small 'ground strap' that links one side of the coupler (driver) to the other (close to steering box). Check that strap/ground wire for its integrity. These types of electrical problems are usually a 'ground' issue.

well my friends,horn is finally working !!! after dismanteling almost everything electrical finally found that there is no ground,so unscrewed the steeringcolum under the dash,scraped some of the paint away and put a metalplate between colum and underdashmetalplate we got some ground and horn was working ! now i am thinking ,where is the loudest horn i can find so those m...........ers respect my little mouse,just saying,any ideas ? anyway all the best to you speedsterowners out there,i am happy,herbert hofer.
Herbert -

Imagine this scenario sequence;

You're behind a large SUV in the parking lot of (name your local shopping mall, or restaurant, or gas station).

You notice the 'Reverse light' of the SUV light up and the rig starts backing in your direction.

The SUV driver does not see you behind him/her and doesn't hear you yelling 'HEY, STOP'!!! or your horn 'beep beep' over their blaring stereo (or yelling at the kids, or talking on the phone).

After the collision, the SUV driver gets out and says "I never saw you back there'.

NOW, the same scenario. but with your Speedster equipped with a LOUD ASS air horn wired through a 30-amp relay for optimal amperage and ear-splitting decibals...

MORAL of the Air-Horn story....Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!!

...I'm just saying...
I just met a guy with about ten electronic horn options. Wired through some external radios speakers attached under his hood. Best one was a huge belly laugh - just the thing after you've spanked some local punk. Loudest was a railroad horn - you'd swear the engine was about to run over you. All the driver does is select a button on a keypad and push the horn button.

Unfortunately, this was all on a 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, with fender skirts!
Advance auto has a hi and low horn set that im quite fond of I put a pair of them on both the bug and the speedter D.

My Jeepster Vw dune buggy that favors a T model has the Ahooga horn. But if you want a extreme horn get the freight train horn at J.C. Whitney. Its said to be overkill But thats heresay

I never owned one so Im not sure if its real loud.

((Guys))???
