I just talked to Greg @ Beck Motorsports. He is shooting to have my car done by the end of next week! If everything goes right, I should have it by Thanksgiving. Their three weeks ahead of what he told me.

I can't wait to see this thing in person. I'll send pic's as soon as I can

Tony
Hi Vicki:

Greg said if everythings goes smooth they'll be shipped Saturday. If not, by Monday or Tuesday they'll be shipped. We should have them by a week from this Saturday at the very latest.

I'm really excited too. What color did you get? I won't be able to drive it because of the snow. I'll just have to stare at it in my garage. How about you?

Talk to you later

Tony
Snow??? Oh, boy! I'm so sorry! Where are you? In Michigan, I think Doug said. Is that right? Weather here is good right now. I have a 356 Speedster that has a puny heater and I did fine with that all last winter. A heaterless vehicle down here isn't a problem for me. Rarely snows too.

Here's what Doug told me: our Spydie's should be ready for shipment Friday, but he will not ship then; he will not be in L.A. until Monday. His sister is in Nashville and he wants to be here for Thanksgiving, so he should arrive Wednesday next week. It takes him 3 days from L.A. to Nashville. I guess that means your Spydie will be sitting on the truck a few days???

SpydieMike--hi! Maybe the truck driver (Doug) starts out Monday at a little past midnight and drives on little sleep, and reaches Nashville a little before midnight on Wednesday! There's your 3 days. He told me he is fully insured; if he falls asleep at the wheel, he will need to be fully LIFE insured, because Tony and I might kill him. . .huh, Tony?

Thanks for the info Vickie. I forgot to ask you. Is your Speedster the real deal?

Also, I talked to Greg yesterday, and he had nothing but nice things to say about you. I also talked to Russ @ Fibersteel. I had him add a satin finsh shifter knob like the original. I need the car shipped because I keep adding to it!!!! It's fun though!!!

Tony
Tony--yes, my Speedster is the real thing (it's a real Vintage brand Speedster--ha ha). It was made in 2002; I've had it a year. Got it from Kirk Duncan at Vintage outside of L.A.

Did you find that gearshift knob on the FiberSteel website? What other options did you get? What color is yours? Actually, I guess I'll see yours next week! Mine is silver with black interior. I want to get the banjo steering wheel soon. I got the engine upgrade, the seatbelts, and few other minor things.

I tried to find one of those hanging car deodorizers in the shape of a pine tree, and one of those seat covers made out of wooden balls, but I haven't had any luck. I did find a Honk If You're Horny bumper sticker, though. So that's good. :-)
Tony--yes, I'm extremely excited!! I'll be able to take Spydie to my parents house for Thanksgiving. They know what my Speedster looks like, but Spydie is going to blow all that out of the water! My mom will say "Well, now, what would you want with such an unsafe car??" Then she'll ride in it and I won't be able to get her out of it!! Let me know about that shifter knob. And write to me when your car comes in. I got some pictures from Greg last week. The best shot was of the engine! A guy thing, I think. Let him know if you want pictures of the car or the motor! v v
That's awesome about being able to take your car to Thanksgiving. I wish I had mine today. It's an unusual 65 degrees today in Michigan. I'd be buzzing up and down the street. Your mom sounds like my dad. My dad will say "why did you waste your money on this car?". Then he will say, "where is the keys?"

I talked to Greg late yesterday; he said my car was 100% complete. Russ, from Fibersteel, was working on my car all day finishing. Greg was suppose to take some shots, but he didn't. I'm a little bummed.

On Monday, he is going to send me detailed shots, so we can go through the car before it is loaded on the truck. Did you do something like this with him? Did he send you a bunch of shots of the car? I for sure want to look at the car before it is loaded. I told him I didn't want this to be a rush rush deal, but it looks like it's coming down to it. It will be fine.

I will for sure let you know about the knob, and I'll send shot when I get the car.

Stay in touch,

Tony
Hi Vicki:

Yes. I got my pictures and, it looks great. They were loaded up yesterday. I talked to Doug from Safe Transport; he said, he is going to have Thanksgiving in Nashville. I think you'll have your car by tomorrow. Doug is leaving Nashville Saturday morning, and I should have my car Saturday night or Sunday morning. My pictures from Greg are to large to download on this site. I did download my other baby in my file I'll send some pics when I get the car. The shift knob is a nice touch.

Happy Thanksgiving

Tony
Tony--you know you'll be the first to know about my little Spydie getting here! Well, maybe second. My boyfriend is starting to get jealous of our relationship (ha--just kidding). Doug said it will be here around 4 p.m. today. I'm going to take some pictures, so I'll email those to you. I didn't quite make Thanksgiving with my family today over in West Tennessee, so they are waiting to celebrate on Friday! Isn't that cool?

I'll be in touch. v v
TONY! It's here! I sent email pix to you. Some are of your Spydie. Yours is very beautiful. But beware. It's VERY FAST. And loud. I set off 4 car alarms just getting down to level 5 in our underground parking! Where will we put license plates??? Let me know if you know what to do.

It's not my age or the leukemia as I wrote in my email; I think I am just drawn to exotic cars!

I feel a kindship here. Don't you? You MUST let me know when yours arrives. Doug is wonderful. v v
Awesome Vicki. Now I'm real excited!! You can email the pictures to
badapag13@comcast.net

So you got yours on Thankgiving Day? Doug sounds like a good guy. I joked with my wife that I have a new girlfriend on the internet and she laughed. That's cool about setting car alarms off. The last time I could do that was when I owned a 1970 Nova Prostreet car.

Have Fun with it.

Tony
Tony--I can't wait for you to get your Spydie!! But BOY! is that top hard to get on! I rode around topless (no jokes please) in 40 degree weather all day yesterday and nearly froze to death (but I was a happy girl), so today I've struggled with the top because I have to get on the freeway in a little while. I emailed you a few more pictures (a few you've already seen). Hope they don't make the anticipation that much harder, but I wanted you to see the car with the top on. Looks good actually, which I didn't anticipate. v v
