Sweet job, Paul. Like that sender, looks totally adjustable and possibly compatible with the combi gauges we already have, or could possibly be rewound to be compatible. Got a URL or stock number/source??
i picked mine up at an autoparts store. Lordco it is called.
the instructions that came with it are in - i think - 4 languages, so it has to be sold everywhere!
For those in Canada - Princess Auto has the same unit sold individually (i actualy opened the package and looked at the resistance range):

the sender is really high quality and completely adjustable.
the gauge, is just a regular gauge - noting fancy. That's good cause i hacked it all apart to get at the guts.
looks like here is a part number:
I'm not sure what you did but everything you do is WAY more work than I'm willing to do on my VS.
Nice job though, you got the knack for tinkering that's for sure.
I remember how the 1963 mechanical gauge worked And I remember a spiral gauge on a AMF mower that was very accurate,. and did not needle bounce.
I'm thinking abut a mechanical hybrid But I still worry about keeping it from leaking .I'm still redesigning it over and over in my head. I want it idiot proof.
Works.
Obviously something to do with resistance through the ground, but had me scratching my head.
How many of you guys run a separate ground and sender positive from gauge to fuel sender?
