This is what I decided to go with:
1915cc
AS41 case full flow
69mm CB 4140 crank
044 42x37 heads
P/C 94 Mahle with teflon buttons
Unitech connecting rods
Chromoly push rods
Racing push rods tubes
Mallory distributor
Lightend flywheel 12
Chromoly gland nut
30mm oil pump
40 idf Weber (60 idle,145 main,175 air)
1 5/8 header with hideaway exhaust
9:1 cc or 8.5:1cc
I was told I should be looking around 122hp.
Does it sound like a good set up to you guys? Of course it is NOT for racing.Just cruise around town and some hwy once in a while(3hours trip).Gearheads tell me your opinion.

It looks good; depending on what you want or need you can get 40 by 35.5 valves instead of the 42 by 37's and conversely a 1-1/2" exhaust system instead of the 1-5/8". Install a good set of rocker shafts. Get an oil sump and an OEM doghouse fan housing; make sure to install the factory thermostat & flap system. If it's for street use you can get by with a set of nice stock VW rods; fancy race rods are not necessary. Make sure you get the whole assembly (from engine pulley to clutch plate including pistons crank and rods) balanced. Get yourself a nice Gene Berg Achiever engine pulley to compensate for the lightened flywheel.
I agree with Ricardo, that having the assembly balanced can really make a big difference. I would have the fan pulley converted to the 356 pulley right from the start and that way it will be done and you will need to have the stock fan welded and balanced. It shouldn't cost you any extra money and it will run cooler, especially at highway speeds.
