Thanks. I cheated a bit, because there's also an Alpine amp and they are Boston speakers behind the retro grilles. Hid the iPod connection in the footwell pocket. Not the most convenient place while driving, but I didn't want anything on display apart from the original radio.

Dale - I also have these two badges (see photos). Thought that four might be a little bit over the top, but I guess I'll change them over now and again. Glad you like them. Got them all from a guy in Germany, two of them still in their original boxes. As has been said before, like automotive jewelry.

Guess that bashed up old steering wheel will have to stay for a while, at least until I can save up enough for that blue leather covered one I saw in Auto Zone. I'll send you the old one back, although it might not look right in a water-cooled car...

Radio????

I guess if I slowed down I could hear a radio.......;-)

Way to go John.......take a old (non working I presume) radio and bring it into the 21st Century. So fitting for a 21st Century car that just looks like 1959.....;-)

Glad your having fun with your new ride! You do it proud!
I've found that if I put in mushy ear plugs and then turn the radio way up, I can hear the radio/CD just fine. I've also found some Sondheisen ear buds that really knock down the exhaust and, especially, the wind noise and I can hear both the CD player as well as a FRS radio when out with the TYP356 folks.

If you really want to hide your IPOD and still make it convenient, get a bluetooth adapter for your radio and IPOD (if the Ipod isn't bluetooth enabled already). You can then stream Pandora or others from your smartphone. If you have multiple inputs to your amp you might bypass the radio head, too, and bluetooth right from the smartphone (or your GPS) to the amp.

The possibilities are endless.

Now......if I could figure a way to make my GPS mount stick to that damned curved windshield.......
John, you really don't want that silly, over-sized steering-wheel on your car. It is a dead give away that you are a poser with a fake 356, and are trying to fool the purists over at 356Registry. I've got a really bitchin' 10" diameter welded chrome chain wheel that Vince gave me. I'll trade you even, plus throw in a set of Beehives for free.
