My Garage Transformation

I have serious garage envy.  I can barely get two cars and lawn equipment in mine, and the ceiling is too low for a lift.  Woe is me.

Here is a pic of my second favorite thing in the garage.  My vintage Hazet tool trolley.  Pretty standard kit for vw and other german mechanics in the 50s-70s.

That cart is looking a little too rough around the edges to be allowed in that garage. Time for a restoration.

Wow, that's a huge garage!  I too have some serious garage envy.  I can barely get two cars in mine, and a lift would be a pipe dream.  In LA a garage that big would be attached to a multi-million dollar home.

Copy that Stephen.  Many older homes in Hawaii have carports that can barely fit two cars, let alone a workshop!  Look at all that land outside the garage, I would be looking into my neighbor's kitchen!  Love the cart, enjoy the new man cave!

Thanks guys.  One great thing about living in the country is that there is lots of room to stretch the legs but the downside is no fun, twisty roads around.  I am envious of you cali guys, and as for Hawaii..... I don't even need to go there...

Looks like you have lots of height clearance for a proper lift.  I have a standard height garage, so I had to go with a scissor hoist.  Not my first choice, but it's way better than jack stands!

I have been contemplating raising my garage ceiling only above Speedster top and windshield. I found out that the woman across the street got a divorce and I am hoping her ex left the lift behind and she would like to get rid of it.

I would like to be able to park another car under the Speedster in the winter.

Bathtub Dude!

First off.....great garage in the making.  I'm about at the point with my 2-car detached that I need another building just to hold the excess (and a wood shop would be nice, too!)

On that Hazet tool caddy;  What is the purpose of the small chains hanging between levels?  Do those trays move up and down?  Just curious.  I, too, have a tool caddy, but it's a simple Craftsman and no where nears as cool as that one.

Thanks guys.  Yes Gord the chains allow the trolley to collapse down.  It can then be locked as well.  The really old ones from the 50's actually have a little seat that folds down too, pretty cool.
