"If this is in the wrong area . . . "

Then I don't wanna be right ! That is SUCH a sweet idea, and on a Cabrio too! NICE JOB ! ! ! !

Did you start with a metal or fiberglass front clip? Are you going to graft 356 sheet metal onto the rear as well? I did a quick photochop of a Ghia Coupe with 356 sheetmetal when I first got my SC, just in case I couldn't save the Porsche . . . I'd have a back-up position for my Ghia.

And my NEWEST junk yard find . . . .

Luck !

This started as a "use up all of the crap in your garage" project. I am new to posting pics so give me some time. I have to scan some pics.

I had a 66 convt ghia that was way too nice to mess with so I sold it. I found this car wrecked in the front so I bought it cheap. After I got it home and really checked it out, it was a mess, every panel was brazed on with a .25 inch of bondo over that. It was a parts car. So when Im in that situation, its time to customise.

The quaters are from a 67 Camaro that I shaped to fit. I know it sounds crazy (wait for the pics).I wanted at least 6" flares because I have some polished Porsche C2 rims laying around. The tail lites are from a 32 Ford, not sure why I had those. I had a 'glass Ghia frontend with no where to go. I had to flare the glass front to match the rear. After I finished, I didnt like how the Ghia front rolls under so I came up with the hybrid. I made mold and took a pattern from that. I will sell the prototype after I clean it up a bit. The proto does not have the front flare.
Thanks for letting me share

Wow! look the turnsignal is the same as an early VW. You could put a VW front clip on it.. or maybe a rear clip on the front or ...and the Doors are already Way Open... Looks like Suicide or Lambo is the way to go...

Naw! You can't fool me. That picture is a set-up.
The hood handle and emblem are still there! Dead Give-away.

(couldn't resist)

I was totally wondering about the handle as well! I like the early handles better, but that's $25 worth of shine on Ebay! The buddy that found it for me has been taking the interior pieces one by one over a short time so as not to raise any eyebrows.

Evidently it had near perfect gauges in it. He send an email pic and the speedo was terrific.

I only want it for the shell, so it's no big deal. Once he grabs the car, I'll shoot down and help him strip it out and trailer the remains on home.
