Dave,
I am soooooo jealous!!!! It looks fantastic!!!
I just got my 911 back on the street a couple weeks ago and the difference is unbelievable. Those SSI's and the M&K are very nice add-ons for me. My 2 in 1 out sounds sweet!! I love the little crackle on decel. I can only imagine what that GT3 will sound like. :)

Dale,
I have Fuchs wheel packing down to a fine art. Two boxes some special thick honeycomb sheet and a few foam peanuts. It costs with new boxes about $100 to Henry's door.
Bring them over and I can do it for you. I have a UPS account so I do everything on-line.
Mickey,
It does sound very nice. The M&K muffler and SSI's as you well know set you back a bit but the quality is amazing and the sound is truly music.

Mickey - many moons ago I had a '68 911S with the engine blue-printed to '70 2.2 911S specs. With a sport muffler, removed the air-cleaner and fitted 3" velocity stacks, that was the BADDEST sounding 911 on the block!
I can imagine the satisfaction your new set-up gives you! Kinda makes you wanna drive around town at 4,500rpm ALL THE TIME!!
Dave - your 911 IM makes me drool every time I see those pics! One of these days...

Thanks Mickey. You've given me something to aspire to when I start my 911 RS faker.
Dave,
I know you don't want to let the cat out of the bag about the wheels you are using, but can you at least give the wheel dimensions and tire specs?
Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly,
15x6 fronts and 15x7 rears. They are built to 68 911R Fuchs spacing for the rear and "Deep or Flat" Fuchs for the front as per Henry's instructions. Yokohama S.drive 195/50 fronts and 205/50 rears. The S.drives have 7 inches of rubber on the ground in the fronts and 7.4 for the rears. If the car is a bit harsh in ride because of the 50 series tires I have a plan in the works for a secondary set of wheels.
"El Guapo",
I'll make sure to have a towel handy when you see the car.....;-)

I have the 3.2/SSI and M&K exhaust set up. Man what a GREAT sound. I love to keep on the gas, turns people's heads, aside from the additional performance, with a K&N filter and Wong chip, its truly the music you want to hear, as Mickey pointed out.

Wong chip?
"Webers don't need no stinking chips!"
I crack my self up.......;-)

Hey Howard, maybe it'd run even better if you took out the "wong" chip, and put in the "wight" one. I'm just sayin'...
Mickey - Yeah! Like that, but not a dual-plug screamer!
Dave - I'm already in need of that towel. I'll be needing a drool-cup when I actually get to see your ride!

Jim,
You know a bib might work......;-)
Update!!!
Henry called today at 1:50 PDT to say he loves the sound and the way the motor runs. Henry loved the fact I had it run in, setup and ready to go on the dyno. Henry said the idle was perfect and they did not need to change a thing. They got it up to operating temprature and purged all the oil lines and coolers. I love it when a plan comes together!
This dream is truly becoming reality soon!

Kelly,
SHOES!
My baby has got new SHOES!
Thoughts? The look is not complete yet. The wheels will have black lugs and black centers with IM crests like the hood crest. The driving lights are not yet installed either.

I LOVE THAT COLOR
Hey Dave, nice wheels!
The rear offset is near perfect for my car. :-)
If my IM is ready before yours I'M STEALING YOUR WHEELS!
Looks awesome, Dave. I can't believe how nice that flat six looks in your engine bay. Maybe I should drive in and do the 'break-in' on your car....or should I say extended 'break-in'? I could put a few thousand miles on your car and work out all the kinks. Maybe Henry could hire me as the 'kink worker-outer'. I'd work cheap!

Ron,
You could have that set of wheels and tires for $2,750.00 US. No waiting for them to build a set.
Thanks for the very kind offer to sort out the car but I'm sure between Henry, Ron Leonard and Rick Davis it will get plenty of sorting. ;-)

Hmmm, I have to drive to Bellingham tomorrow to retrieve my son from college. A small detour to IM in Vancouver and I could add my name to the Mitchell Memorial Car Tester list!

Ron,
To be fair to Tomm here is what the steering wheel is. It took a long time to find the "right" one. Henry had the hub made special.

Very nice wheel, Dave.
OK, I had too much fun in B'Ham and didn't cross the border today. I could use vice grips as the temp steering wheel though!
Cheers!

It's amazing how nice a very simple shape, with little added gingerbread, can look in a subdued color. It requires everything being juuuust right. You nailed it.

Neat-o color, and of course it's an IM so we know it works good. only trouble is: my advice is not to drive it in the fog, else you will completely disappear.
You have a point, Kelly, particularly given where he lives. In all honesty, I feel I must do the brave thing and help out our new member by offering to trade my red, and much more visible Speedster for that dull gray, dangerous one. I'll even cover shipping cuz' that's the kinda guy I am.
Dave - The color combo is outstanding, and the clean lines of the Carrera look are very sexy. If it performs anything like Howard's IM6, it'll be a absolute blast. When do you take delivery?
Dave, Its been fun watching YOU, watching IT, come together. Its a beautiful , clean look, great colors, and sound hmmmm, like a proper Porsche should, ask how I know!!!!!!

Lane,
Thanks for the kind words...
Angela,
Gorgeous and it's not Black! That is truly high praise.
Kelly,
Fog? Those are driving lights. Fog lights are yellow......;-)
Lane,
Red cars make the tail lights disapear. I worry about getting rear ended. I do however appreciate you kind offer to help.
Felix,
235HP and 225Ft/lbs torque with Webbers versus CIS injection. I hope Howard can keep up.....:-0
Howard,
You are correct. Truly nothing sounds like a Porsche Flat Six. No radio required. Heated seats you bet.......;-)
To the rest of you guys and gals this has truly been fun. 10 days and a wake up and I get to drive my new ride!
