Well, it has taken a ton of sorting out, lots of discussions, days and weeks of explorations, etc. but I feel I finally have all the details sorted out on my new build.
First off, I have to say that Henry at Intermeccanica is the best person I have ever done business with, regardless of what product or service we are talking about. He simply knows his stuff, knows what the customer needs, and works overtime to make sure the final product is exactly what was envisioned. And in the process, he becomes a heck of a good friend.
I've longed for a 911 powered Intermeccanica for a long time, and I now am going to get one. After a couple of fantastic used IMs, this is my 'bespoke' automobile.
We are going with a 3.6 993 engine, a 915 transmission with Wevo shifter, and 1987 Carrera suspension, brakes, etc. Henry was great in arranging for me to get my hands on what he needs for a 911 based Speedster and I can't wait for that first drive.
For inspiration, Henry and I are working toward something similar to this. I've been consumed by this car since I first saw photos of it, and some of you will know it belonged to Matt Stoich.
I guess I'm a happy camper these days
