Ask your three year old grandson and he might tell you to get some like this:
Bob mentioned that you can only see them when the car is sitting still.
So true....... Pearl, as a wedding get-away car, at speed, showing off her 5-spokes:
Maybe Gordon does have a point. Rims with just a bit more 'bling' could lift the car to a whole new level.
... because nothing conveys understated engineering efficiency like a set of tastefully chromed 28" food processor knives with 10 series tires.
When only the most refined will do.
I like how the five blades and color fill are a subtle reference back to the original Fuchs design. It's nice to remember your roots.
Mitch
I's gonna git ma bro's and we's gonna find you, you honky.
Mitch
Pleases, please, tell me that those "bling" wheels are photoshopped onto the green speedster!!!!
Well shoot, Carl, you've seen what I did there.
And Bob, I meant nothing divisive. I thought that post would offend everyone equally.
Handles like it's on rails!

Looks like it too!
I dunno, guys. Where's thew spinner part...? You know, the one that keeps spinning even after your car stops? Man, I miss those Sprewells.
Mitch: I'm still laughing...thanks! It really is hilarious. But, I could drive around any 'hood' and not be dissed.
BTW, the car was picked up today from Henry's, and should be here just in time for me to open on Christmas morning. Now, to see where I can find a set of those wheels...
WildBill posted:Handles like it's on rails!
....and with those wheels the car will probably weigh as much as a locomotive too.
Well, I am one administrative step away from getting the car registered here in Ontario. Visited the Licence Bureau today, and sorted through papers, etc. A couple of phone calls to the `Ministry Hotline` from the local office, and the bureaucrats therein finally decided that I need one more document from Intermeccanica.
That piece of paper should be on its way tomorrow, and what with the early Spring (all the snow is gone, at least for now), I hope to be on the road in a day or two.
It`s been a long haul, and quite an experience. Kudos to Henry and his lads for such a great build.
Bob, what issue or document did DVM want that you did not have after all the stuff they usually want.

I don't think these are the wheels Alan had on the car when built.
This is my favorite Flared Outlaw of all time...I like these wheels much better and they'd be my 2nd choice to Real Fuchs.
Bob you've got a good weather weekend coming up to cruise about and show that magnificent speedater off...You're bound to leave Ontario ankle-deep in puddles of envious dripping saliva!!!
It's the whine of a Porsche 6 when you get it going that is really magnetic....
You're right Elfrazoo...they are not the wheels that I put on the " Candy"
build ( out fav speedster of all) but I do like them better !
The wheels on the black speedster are Ridler polished aluminum15 x 8 x 15 w/ 4.5 back set.
I sure would love some show bars on my hard toneau...
Fairly easy to do, get a Miata roll show bar ( eBaY $85 or so shipped) cut off the hoops to best fit your hard tonneau, there are a number of ways to fasten the hoops to the tonneau.....
$80.00 to ship it to Hawaii...Plus the cost of the bar, ouch!

I'd imagine living on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is going to garner some higher delivery charges. The downside to living in such a place.
Yes Bill, as our friend Bob M points out, there's a definite 'bite the bullet' downside to living in a balmy paradise...but there's possibly an up $ide opportunity here too.
I'll bet there are competent pipe benders in Hawaii...and powder coaters...and at least a few others on the island who pine for such a roll bar but wince at the delivery charges.......You wouldn't even have to advertise. Just show up at a few Saturday morning's Cars&Coffee...and take depo$its !!!
It's a tiny island...

Carl: The weather is beautiful, the roads are dry, but the only saliva dripping around here is from me. The documents arrived from Intermeccanica, but too late for me to get the car licensed. Although, one day delivery from Vancouver to here is still pretty good.
I'll be at the DMV early Monday morning.
But of course, it's supposed to rain all next week...
Bob, we all share your joy. This is an awesome build!
Do you have to display a plate up front in Canada?
I have a friend on Vancouver Island, BC , the cost to live there and transport goods there is not very palatable, let alone the ferry cost, about $110 per trip one car two people to the mainland, BC. I think BC means Bring Cash. All Island are the same I would think, the sun is the commodity you need to appreciate the most
At least I get drive my speedster every day (unless it's raining)

Thanks, Bill!
Yep. Plates both front and rear in Ontario. I guess the authorities aren't bright enough for just one plate...
Yeah, with one plate in back you only need to Foam up the back one to get away...

When we moved to Vancouver Island in December I brought over our 27 foot 5th wheel. We went over at a day/time when there was a discount and 'only' had to pay $225.
Usually it's $250 one way.
Guess what I sold last week....
You mean you sold the 5th wheel or the house? Personally i would get cabin crazy on an island just not enough roads to drive on and to much inter breeding
Life is funny sometimes. Last September, I was in B.C. at the Intermeccanica Treffen, and spent a week or so test driving the car before final assembly. The very first day, we headed north up what I didn't know was quite an elevation. We ended up driving through snow, sleet, and transport trucks trying to stay on the road.
Fast forward to yesterday, my first real drive in the car now it is here. Guess what? Ended up driving through mist, torrential rain, and sporadic hail on a hundred mile trip.
I must be jinxed...
Bob, get the accuweather app on your mobile device. It even has doppler radar when you scroll down. You can avoid lots of bad weather.
Marty:
If I avoided bad weather, I'd rarely get a chance to drive the damn car...
Bob, It's Ok you're getting all the bad weather out of the way ...Carlisle will be good !
