Well, I am one administrative step away from getting the car registered here in Ontario.  Visited the Licence Bureau today, and sorted through papers, etc.  A couple of phone calls to the `Ministry Hotline` from the local office, and the bureaucrats therein finally decided that I need one more document from Intermeccanica.

That piece of paper should be on its way tomorrow, and what with the early Spring (all the snow is gone, at least for now), I hope to be on the road in a day or two.

It`s been a long haul, and quite an experience.   Kudos to Henry and his lads for such a great build.

What is with all this wheel-nis envy??  Don't you guys have anything better to do??

They are all right beautiful shoes for a Speedy, I gotta say.  I have always liked what Alan manages, variations of:

P1010176

I don't think these are the wheels Alan had on the car when built.

This is my favorite Flared Outlaw of all time...I like these wheels much better and they'd be my 2nd choice to Real Fuchs.

Yes Bill, as our friend Bob M points out, there's a definite 'bite the bullet' downside to living in a balmy paradise...but there's possibly an up $ide opportunity here too.

I'll bet there are competent pipe benders in Hawaii...and powder coaters...and at least a few others on the island who pine for such a roll bar but wince at the delivery charges.......You wouldn't even have to advertise. Just show up at a few Saturday morning's Cars&Coffee...and take depo$its !!!

Bob you've got a good weather weekend coming up to cruise about and show that magnificent speedater off...You're bound to leave Ontario ankle-deep in puddles of envious dripping saliva!!!

Carl:  The weather is beautiful, the roads are dry, but the only saliva dripping around here is from me.  The documents arrived from Intermeccanica, but too late for me to get the car licensed.  Although, one day delivery from Vancouver to here is still pretty good.

I'll be at the DMV early Monday morning.

But of course, it's supposed to rain all next week...

I have a friend on Vancouver Island, BC , the cost to live there and transport goods there is not very palatable, let alone the ferry cost, about $110 per trip one car two people to the mainland, BC.  I think BC means Bring Cash.  All Island are the same I would think, the sun is the commodity you need to appreciate the most

When we moved to Vancouver Island in December I brought over our 27 foot 5th wheel.  We went over at a day/time when there was a discount and 'only' had to pay $225.

Usually it's $250 one way.

Guess what I sold last week....

Life is funny sometimes.  Last September, I was in B.C. at the Intermeccanica Treffen, and spent a week or so test driving the car before final assembly.  The very first day, we headed north up what I didn't know was quite an elevation.  We ended up driving through snow, sleet, and transport trucks trying to stay on the road.

Fast forward to yesterday, my first real drive in the car now it is here.  Guess what?  Ended up driving through mist, torrential rain, and sporadic hail on a hundred mile trip.

I must be jinxed...
