Been there for several years, Gordon. Has it been that long since we've seen each other?
EDIT: Just check a picture from 4 years ago and I had it then.

Beautiful wheel.
Lane, that wheel looks REAL sweet!
Lane, when did you paint your Speedster white?
Ya like the customer work I did? No problem drawing the exhaust on driveways anymore.
Bob - I have your wheel in the car. Trying to decide if I'm gonna give it to you or keep it. It's awfully nice.
Thanks, Lane.
If it's ransom you're after, then let's negotiate.
That wheel might get stolen when I distract Lane with a Weber Gremlin. They are my little minions and will only attack those they are directed to.......
I just noticed the auto corrupt changes in my post above. Damn computers thinking they're smarter than us.
"custom", not "customer"
"dragging", not "drawing"
Hey Danny, I also have two others I'm supposed to be delivering to Carey. We can check 'em out and I can make you a deal.

Hey, Lane. 'Auto corrupt' - that's a change that can describe most of us here.
More shots of the build, should anyone be interested. I think it's coming along nicely.

Beautiful!.... about sums that IM build !
Thanks, Alan. Coming from a master builder such as you, that means a lot.
I can't wait for the first time I push that start button...

"should anyone be interested"... you've got to be kidding. I LOVE this stuff. More pictures would be even better.
Let me spend money vicariously. I'm all out of my own.
Stan, that is the same line our politicians use
Keeerikies...I wanna be you when I grow up !
Bob,
You have commissioned a genuine work of art. The great thing for you is that you had the good sense to have a guy like Henry build it for you, so the finished product will bring you as much pleasure as the anticipation of the build stage. Good on ya, Bob!
X2 what David said. Wow.
Agree. Wow.
Gorgeous, Bob!
Thanks, guys. It was not an easy decision - as you can well imagine - to go 'all out' on this. But just once in a while in life things come together that make it possible to do something like this.
Knowing Henry as I have over the past years, I knew what I would end up with. I knew every detail would be superb in terms of 'looks', and the 911 mechanicals on the car guarantee a heck of a nice ride.
It's almost like having a re-bodied 911 but with a timeless classic body shape and beautiful appointments throughout. And few people doubt the quality coming from the Intermeccanica shop.
It's been a lot of fun - and a few sweaty palms - through the entire process, from that first email asking about an IM6.
Anyway, I'm just a fortunate fellow to be able to do this, as is anyone who falls under the 'Speedster Spell'.
Bob, I'm really interested in seeing how those wheels look on your car.
Is there something in the back of the two outer engine hood air vents?
Ron:
Those are 'high' signal lights that I asked Henry to install. They will flash in conjunction with the two beehives on each side.
The beehives are wired so that all four come on with the brakes, and two a side flash for turns. So I'll have three signal lights per side.
There is the normal 'high' brake light in the engine vent, and Henry put a small LED back up light under the Spyder licence plate light.
Bob, Backup lights are always an issue in my books.
Bob, I like your choice of no chrome. Will that be continued over to the interior and dash? Plus, the wheels gives one a little clue as to what's under the hood.
Backup lights for shine up or down are not sufficient for serious backing up. I know some of the guys have a really bright spot under the car, others have put a camera .... for now I have yet to find something that blends into the car, to my liking, to pursue a better option. Anybody have a suggestion fire away... Ray

Rich
It's a 3.6, 993 engine - the last of the air cooled ones.
As for the non chrome look, yes it will be carried through to the interior, at least as much as is practical.
But Bob, the wheels are 964, no? And the 964 sported a 3.6 as well. But I digress...you have one sweet car there my friend!
Rich
The wheels are 'D90'. I don't know if they were on the 964 models.
But it's interesting you ask that, as the first engine we looked at was from a 964.
We ended up with a 993. I think it's a similar engine, but not sure.
I used to think that the 964 was the worst looking 911, but they are growing on me. I like that silver one.
This is for Stan: "I LOVE this stuff. More pictures would be even better." Here you go - Henry just added four new suspension shots.

As for the D90 wheels, they'll be on mine until I decide on something else, or unless I decide I like them.
Maybe Marty will have a set of used wheels I can buy.
It appears that the elves have been busy! Looks great, Bob!
I'm looking forward to the 964 wheels. It's different. I like different!
Vented rotors.....nice!
Shes gorgeous Bob, way to go !
Thanks, all.
The suspension is from a 1987 Carrera, with new parts as needed. It's coming together nicely.
Nice to see Marty's car right nearby......
A few more IM6 shots, with more to come soon...
Bob it is looking really cool and I can see the whole trend of the brushed aluminum following your models. I am enjoying my car now...Ray
Thanks, Ray. I liked the look of powder coated trim on a couple of other cars Henry did, so decided to go with it. There are still a few items to be added, such as the headlight grills, emblems, etc.
Henry says he is getting ready to install the engine/transaxle, so things are moving along nicely. The bucket seats look great.

Glad you are getting some seat time in your car. I'm looking forward to doing the same.
