I'm really surprised at how much room you have with that big motor stuffed in there.
There has to be some big parts missing.

Thanks, guys
Apparently Henry had to order an ignition module from Porsche in Europe, so we will see how long that takes to arrive.
As Gilda Radner used to say, 'there's always something'.
Ray: Yokohama - I think Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R.
A nice, sticky summer tire.
Yes, and I hope to wear it all down to nothing...
How wide is that rear tire, Bob? (you know I had to ask)
Rear wheels are eight inches; tire is either 245/45-16, or 225/50-16. I'm not sure exactly which one we ended up with.
I've let Henry make a lot of the choices on this build, at least mechanically.
My IM6 update:
Well, the engine is all hooked up, the ignition module has arrived from Porsche Europe (a hard to find part, apparently), and Henry is constructing a custom exhaust system. I'm going for a dual round tip exit, similar to a Singer exhaust. The rear valance will hide everything except for the tips.
Final parts going out for powder coating asap.
Due date is the week of September 21st. The plan is to head out there, check it out, attend the IM Treffen gathering, and then cruise around for a couple of days more before shipping it back home.
I hope the weather stays nice this Fall to give me some real driving time.
September is usually an awesome time in the southern part of B.C. for top down cruising, but with the weird weather we've had this year who knows.
I thought you were going to go with the Stoich exhaust at first with the apron.
But that looks nice! Your plan makes perfect sense you can shake down the car and get some adjustments done on it while your still there, then ship it back. I found that it worked for me. Ray

It will be very similar to what Matt had on his car and there will be a rear apron to cover the muffler. Matt had twin Boxster pipes on his, but they were more oval in shape.
I usually love the Singer Products but the tires on the one Bob posted are way too big. It looks like a toy monster truck.
True. They are big.
When is your IM arriving home?
Here's another IM6 Update:
Due to a real lack of space back there, Henry and his crew designed and built their own muffler for the car. It looks like a fairly direct system, and allows me to retain the stock heat exchangers (kind of nice to have that up here for early and late season drives).
The rear valance will cover all except the twin tips, and I have no idea of what the sound is like. Henry is going to try to get a video.

When I grow up I want one of these.
Well, I haven't grown up yet...it's much more fun to be a little kid.
Thanks, Marty. I asked Henry to do two outlets, to mimic the twin beehives on each side. Looks like he even put rings on the pipes to get the same look as the beehives.
I'm curious as to what the sound will be and how it will look with the rear valance. I assume the length of the pipes was calculated with that in mind.
IT'S ALIVE
After about a year of emails, phone calls, documents back and forth, decisions, etc. the car is pretty well finished, and Henry has the 3.6 engine up and running.
He still has to finish the shell muffler, as he had just roughed it up to see if it would really work.
More breaking news as it happens...
Stay tuned ladies and gentlemen to the SOC station for breaking news as it happens on the IM S6 Rocket ship schedule launch 23rd of Sept, 2015.... Part of the new Apollo 15 launch.
Well, Henry sent me a video of the car running, and if I can figure it out how to show it here, I will certainly do so.
The car has a really nice burble to it...
I think I got the video to work. Have a listen. Music to my ears
so hot.........................
Holy CARP!!!!!!
That really sounds nice, Bob. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Vr beastly.
Bob, imagine the sound when you wind her out for your first 7 grand shift.
Seven grand? That's about what it would cost me to replace the transmission...
Talked to Henry yesterday. The car is up and running with no problems. Just some interior work to finish up, and some of the powder coated parts to install. Then a good four wheel alignment.
I need to see/hear what the exhaust is like. Henry says he can modify the sound to what we want (level, that is), then complete the muffler, finish all the edges, and get it ceramic coated. He compared the sound to that of an M&K exhaust.
I'll have a day or so of testing before we head to Kamloops for the IM weekend, then a few days of driving around the area, and then back to Intermeccanica.
Bob: Any way you can show me the source URL or, if Henry sent it to you, email me the MP4 file for your start-up/idling video?
Tnx, gn
Got it, Dr. Bob......
Looks good, and thanks!

Tomorrow is the day - off to my new IM6 at Intermeccanica!
We'll be out there for about ten days - thought we would make a vacation out of it.
If I can post some pics, I'll do so, but if not, I'll post a few when we are back.
It feels a little like Christmas Eve tonight...
That is a remarkable creation and the perfect choices made.
Enjoy your vacation and try not to make that smile too permanent!
Bob, you might not sleep tonight... Have fun, Ray
Best of luck, Bob...good on ya ! Keep us posted with anything you can ...
All the best, Bob, and have a WONDERFUL trip!
Pictures, pictures, pictures!!!!
Gordon: Henry just sent these shots tonight. The wheels may be temporary - I'll have to see them in person - but they are the right size, etc. for the 911 running gear.
All else looks AOK. Green tape still on the steering wheel - the car was just back from a four wheel alignment. I like the stance.
Have a great time Bob. Give that throttle a squeeze for me.
Looking great Bob! When are you picking it up? I live near IM, and there is a pub close by...
