It was heaven here on Friday and Saturday until a cold front came through around sunset last night. Took the BMW R100 for several rides, spring tuneup and changed all the oils(gearbox, drive shaft, final drive) and got it NYS inspected. Now it's 100% ready to go.

Spyder is getting some love as well. Front sway bar fabrication, CHT gauge and other stuff I didn't get to last year. I figure two weeks from now I'll be done AND the weather will be great.

Phil, looking forward to seeing that ride in pictures AND in person......

Bored waiting for my car.  Car will be kept in Charlottesville VA, home of the University of Virginia founded by Thomas Jefferson who lived nearby at Monticello.  Cville was also the home of Dave Matthews.  He was born in South Africa but spent his young adulthood in Cville.  He has a home and recording studio just NE of town (lives most of the time in Seattle).  Most of his band members are from Cville and have homes nearby.  This is the second oldest "store" on the downtown walking mall.  Its now a great bar and restaurant, one of my favorites.  And the other cool thing about this place is that Dave Matthews used to tend bar here and also did a few of his first gigs.  Just bought this painting done by a local artist.  And one of my favorites Dave Matthews songs.

Hey Phil,
You could always take a drive down to Lynchburg and stand in line a Biscuitville to kill a few hours one day. Spent a little time in your neck of the woods awhile back. Beautiful area and loved Monticello.

I feel your pain, the waiting is the hard part. But the fun that awaits you will all be worth it upon delivery.

All the best,
Dave

It's been a long road, but it always is when you decide to color outside the lines.

So, Uncle Stan's unsolicited advice: the best thing you can do at this point is wait for it to be shipped, then enjoy it fully when it arrives. Drive the wheels off that thing. DON'T LOSE INTEREST in it because there's some "this or that" that you wish you'd done differently (there will be a dozen of those things, at least one will be significant). None of this time or money has been wasted if you use and enjoy the car-- the longer you have it, the better the ROI is on it.
