You may recall that I had a leaking #3 exhaust valve a month ago and I pulled the engine to have a valve job done. Well, the valve job turned into a complete engine rebuild and my stock 1915cc engine, is now a 2054cc.
One thing led to another and before I knew it I had a new balanced forged "stroker" crank, a w-110 Engle cam, all new rings and bearing, ported and polished CB Performance heads (thanks Will), new 1.5" heat exchangers (thanks again Will), solid rocker arms, light weight lifters, .035 pushrods, swivel feet, full flowed crank case, some sort of special head studs, something special done to the flywheel (lightened or balanced or drilled???), a better distributor, a 2 quart oil sump and a bunch of other odds and ins.
My mechanic says that my engine now has a compression ratio of 7.95:1. He also moved the location of my oil filter, which is now a larger Fram HP1, to a postition further away from the engine and exhaust heat. For tuning purposes, he temporarily put an ugly single, side exhaust header (sounds like a tractor) on my engine until I get my dual exhaust header from Roland. He has me using Valvoline VR1 20w-50 racing oil with Lucas ZDDP zinc oil additive. He made me drive it for 60 miles and then bring it back so he could change the oil and adjust the valves before he would let me drive it on my 700 mile trip to Tahoe this weekend. The car ran great on our Tahoe trip and we had a GREAT time.
The total bill including the cost of labor, parts and everything except the header (that I don't have yet) $2,700.
Here are a couple of pictures and some video. Is that a classic SEG (in the photo and the video) on my face or what!
